Due to the absence. of the City Clerk no minutes were presented.

The following hills were presented after their approval by Alder' -an Rarr, Chairman of
the Auditing, Committee, whereupon Alderman Harding mace a motion which was seconded
by Alderman Bynum that the bills he allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed t
draw warrants for same, upon the proper funds. This motion received the unanimous vote

Asphalt
Plant:
Alderman Wages made a motion that the action of the Council on February 20th, 1931,
relative to the C. A. Moreno Asphalt Plant proposition be brought up for reconsider-
ation. Alderman Bvnum seconded the motion which received the entire vote of the Coun-
cil. .After discussion Alderman Sanders made a motion which was seconded by Alderman
Stanford that the Co A. Moreno Asphalt Plant proposition he rejected. Upon the ques-
tior hnine put before the Council it received their unanimous vote and the Clerk was
Instructed to notifi= the C. A. Moreno Co. of the rejection.
The Council refused to consider a hill. of Mrs. E. H. Watts as the injury to her car
was no fault of the City.
^To further business, Alderman Stanford moved that the Council adiourn. Alderman Greg-
orp seconded the motion which received the entire vote of the Council. The Mayor
declared the Cou cil adjo•.rned.

A. Bohn asked permission to cut the curb for a driveway to his garage at his resi-
dence on Johnson Street. A motion made by Alderman Bynum and seconded by Aldermen
Carter to grant this permit under the supervision of the City engineer was passed
by the unanimous vote of the Council and the Mayor so declared.

Ordinance:
The prorosnd Ordinance to Bring Block 32, Original Town of Fayetteville, into the
Fire Zone, same being carried on its second reading, was brought to the attention
of the Council. A. H. Clement and Frank B. Lewis appeared before the Council in
ornosition to the Ordinance, but withdrew their obiections when Alderman Carter
offered the following, amendment: That the Ordinance be amended to also include Blocks
18 and 25, Original Town of Fayetteville, Arkansas,to be taken into the Fire Zone,
Alderman Bynum made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Harding that the Ordinance
as amended he placed on its third and final reading,. This motion was duly passed by
the Council and the Clerk then read the Ordinance the third and final time. The
Mayor then nut the question "Shall the Ordinance pass". Up the Clerk calling the

roll t`�e following, vote resulted: Ayes, Barr, Bynum, Carter, Gregory, Harding, Stan-
ford, Wages, Naps, none. Absent and not voting, Sanders. The Mavor declared the Ordi-
nance passed as there were 7 Ayes and no NAys.

618. Passed and approved on the 24th day of May, 192611

Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas:
Section One: That section One of Ordinance No. 618, passed and approved on the
24th day of Asap, 1926, with reference to fire zones '-in amended to read as follows:
"Beginning at the intersection of the South Line of .test Spring Street; with the
cast line of North Church Street, and run^ing thence east to a point three hurdred'
(300) feet east of the east line of North College Avenue: thence south parallel with
thn east line of 6ollege. Avenue and at a distance of three hundred (300) feet there
from, to tl-e north line of the alley immediately south of the County Jail., thence
west to the east line of College Avenue, thence south to the north line of Rock
Street, thence riest along trc north line of Rock gtreet to the east line of South

after its passage, anproval, and publication.

Airport A proposition to lease the old airport for a golf course was presented to the Council.
Lease: After discussion Alderman Gregory made a motion, which was soconded by Alderman Wages,
that the balance due on hack rentals be collected in full before the matter of making
further disposition of the Airport he considered. This motion received the entire vote
of the Council and the Mayor so declared.
Mayor Trihhle presented a telegram relKti.ve to a sh;mmnnt of fiber for the street
swoeper which had been sent wdthout a signed order and had been turned down. An offer
was made in the telegram to take 20% discount if the shipment would '^e accepted. A
motion by Alderman Sanders seconded by Alderman Barr that the proposition he accepted
was passed by the unanimous vote of the Council:
