Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday February 20th, 1933. Present: Mayor T. S. TribInle, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attoeney V.'James Ptak, City En- gineer T. N. Ratliff, Chief of Police Neal Cruse, Aldermen Barr, Bynum, Carter, Greg- ory, Harding,, Sanders, Stanford, and Wares. . Minutes of the reg»lar mooting held February 13th, 1933, were read and avnroved. Bills: The .following hills were presented after their approval by Alderman Barr, Chairman of the Auditing Committee, whereupon Alderman Bynum made a motion seconded by Alderman & Gregory that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. This motion r®ceived the unanirous vote of the Council and the Mavor so declared and instructed the Clerk: Ben Porter $12.00, Abshier-Bryan 872.60, Montgomery -Ward Co. $29.10, Harvey Wilkerson $5.58, and A. F. Shumate $30.00. Asnhalt Plant: The City Engineer and the Chairman of the Street Committee reported that the rental . on the Asphalt Plant where it Is now stored would he 015.00 per month. After dis- cussion it was agreed that the Plant be moved to the Sonth end of Gregg Street. Alderman Sanders then moved that the proposition of the Co A. Moreno Co. as pre- sented February kith be accepted. Alderman Harding,, seconded the motion which was duly passed by the Council and the Mayor so declared. rdinancele The Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 611 was brought before the Council. By motion Mrs. Peck appeared before the Council stating that her residence is outside of the Corporate limits of the City of Fayetteville, and that her Water Improvement assess- ment had been raised from $8.33 to X525.00 per yeas, and asking relief fron same. Alderman t;'ages moved that the Mayor be instructed to appoint e. Committee to investi- gate the matter. The motion was seconded by Alderman Gref;ory and received the unani= mous vote of the Council. The Mayor named the Committee as follows; Aldermen Wages, Barr, and Carter. The Board of Governors of the Chamber of Commerce extended an invitation to the City Council to be guests of the Chamber of Commerce LLt luncheon at the Canteen on the U. S. Hospital Reservation at Noon February 21st. The invitation was accepted. No further business, Alderman Bynum moved tat the Council adjourn. Alderman Carter seconded the motion which received the entire vote of the Council. F. Stanford introduced an Ordinance entitled "An ordinance to amend sec - ire Zone: tion one of Ordinance No. 618." This ordinance was read the first time in its entire- ty. Alderman Sanders then made a motion which was seconded by Alderman Bynum that the rules be suspended and the ordinance he placed on its second reading. The motion re- ceived the entire vote of the Council and the Clerk read the ordinance the second time. It was left on its second reading. Permit to cut The South -Western Bell Telephone Co. asked permission of the Council to cut the nave. Pavement: ment in two places on Center, Street, one being East of the School Street inter- ,just section and the other being at the Hill Street intersection. By motion of Alderman Wages, seconded by Alderman Harding, and dul.V passed by the Council, the permit was granted, same to be under supervision of the City Engineer.
