IFayetteville City Council met in regular session. Monday December 12tbl, 1912.
Present: J:Tavor T. S. Tribble, City Clerk Otoe Phillips, City Attorney V. James Ptal., Chief of
Police ?Teal Cruse, Aldermen; Barr, Bynum, Carter, Gregorv, Sanders, Stanford, and
Wages. Pbsent Alderrlikn Harding.
Minutes of the regular meeting as held December 5th, 1232, were read and app---oved by the
unanimous vote of the Council.
ills: The following bills 4-rere presented after t�eir ar_r.roval by Alderman Barr, Chairman
of the Auditing Committee, whereupon Aldermar Gregory made a motion, which was sec-
onded by Alderman By uri, that the hills be allowed as aoproved and the Clerk be in-
structed to draw warrants for same unon the proper funds. This motion received the
unanimous vote of the Council and the Mayor so declared and instructed the Clerk:

On behalf of the Southern T:'emorial Association and the United Daughters
of the Confederacy, it is my- rleasant duty as chairman of the bridge committee to pre-
sent to you and through -ou to the old home town, the newly erected bridge on .Rock
street - the gateway to our beautiful cerreterir of the Confederate dead. The comrr;ittee,
con.s•istinr- of Mrs. Cener Hight and myself for the S. Ne A., and. Mrs. Tom Lown. rep-
resenting the U. D. C., wish to express our anrreciation of the aid given by the TMayor
and the city engineer in this work. We thunk the bri.dr•e is a substantial piece of work,
and the S. Tt, A. and the U. D. C. who have financed ioirtly, now turn it over to the
city.

After reading of the above letter Alderman Barr moved that the bri.dP;c� or. Rock street
he accented by the City. This motion Ir:as seconded hr Alderman Carter and received
tre entire vote of the Council. At the request of the Ylayor the Ceunci.l gave the two
organizations a rising vote of thanks for the bridge.
A motion to ad,iourn, made by Alderman Sanders and seconded by Alderman Bynum, was
duly passed by the Council, 'r✓hereupon the D;ayor declared the Council adjourned.
