1932. Alderman Bynum made a motion seconded by Alderman Carter that; $20.nn he paid to
V. James Ptak for services rendered. This motion received the unanimous vote of the
Conncil and the Mayor so declared and instructed the Clerl--.

Nicht Chief of Police Neal Cruse came before the City Council and asked that he he allowed
Police:
a 3rd man for police duty at night. After discussion, Alderman .Sanders introduced the
followinp resolution and moved its passage: That the Mayor and Chief of Police he in -
strutted to employ a 3rd man for police duty at night, to work at the direction of
the Chief or Police: that said night man -is to furnish his own car, and is to receive
a salary of 3.75 per month.Alderman Harding seconded the motion. llron the question
being nut before the Council, the following vote resulted: Ages, Alder -en Barr, By- '
num, Carter, Harding, Sanders: bays, Aldermen Gregory; Stanford, Vages. Absent and
not voting, none. The Mayor declared the motion as passAd as there were 5 ayes and
3 nays.
