him for his services as Acting City Clerk from August 15th, 1032, to September 12,

V. James Ptak for services rendered. This motion received the unanimous vote of the
Council and the Mayor so declared and instructed the Clerl_.
Chief of Police heal Cruse came before the City Council and asked that he be allowed
a :gird man for police duty at night. After discussion, Alderman Sanders introduced the
following resolution and moved its passage: That the I,7avor and Chief of Police be in-
structed to employ a 3rd man for police duty at night, to work at the direction of
the Chief of Police: that said night man is to furnish his own car, and. is to receive
a salary of 49:7.75 per month. Alderman Harding seconded the motion. Upon the question
being put before the Council, the following vote resulted: Ages, Aldermen Barr, By- '
num, Carter, Harding, Sandarac: Bays, Aldermen Gregory; Stanford, Vrages. Absent and
not voting, none. The Mayor declared the motion as passad as there were 5 ayes and
Alderman Hard4.ng made a motic_z which was seconded by Alderman Bvnunm, that the Coun-
cil adjourn, This motion received the unanimous vote of the Cou•,cil and the Mtayor
