and the water Commissioners relative to amounts due the Western Methodist
Assembly and Ely-Wlalker Dry Goods Co. and to investigate the contracts made
with them. This motion received the unanimous vote of the Council. The Mayor
appointed the Finance Committee composed of Aldermen Barr, Gregory, & Wages; and
City Attorney V. James Ptak, and City Engineer E. M. Ratliff to make the
necessary investigations.
Alderman Harding made a motion that the Council adjourn, which was seconded by
Alderman B„num. The motion received the. unanimous vote of the Council and the
Mayor declared the Council PS adjourned.

The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Barr,
chairman of the Auditing Committee, whereuilon Alderman Bynum made a motion
seconded by Alderman Harding, that t}ie bills he allowed as approved and the
Clerk he instructed YXMX to draw warrants for same uipon the proper fund.s.

T. S. Tribble as purchasing agent, Otoe Phillips as City Clerk, P.,. Cunningham
as City Collector, 17. M. Fishhack as Acting Police Judge and k. P. Nifong acs,
Police Judge combined, Neal Cruse as Chief of Police, and Clyde Walters as
Fire Chief. After the reading of the reports Alderman narainp maor a motion
that was seconded by Alderman Gregory that the reports he accepted as rend and.

imous vote of the Council and the Mayor so declared.

Section one: That the rate of taxes for CITY GENERAL FUND purposes, for the year 1932,

ation of all real and Personal Property within the Corporate limits of the City of
Fayetteville, Ark, as shown by the assessment hooks for State &: County purposes,
and that the same is hereby levied: and the Mavor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to certify this levy to the County Clerk of 19ashington
County, Ark., to the end that the same may be placed on the tax hooks and
collected with the State & County taxes.

was carried over till next regular meeting Oct. 10th, 19:12 as they needed more time
to obtain thr, required data.
Audit: Due to the condition of the hooks of the City Clerk on August 1st, 1932, a motion
was made by Alderman Gregory and second.d by Alderman Stanford that the Mayor and
the City Clerk be instructed to employ R. C. Framhers P: Co., Certified Account-
ants of Ft. Smith, Ark., to make a comrlete audit from the date of last audit
to Oct. 1st, also to include a final audit at the close of the. year 1932. This mo-
tion received the unanimous vote of the Council and the Mayor so declared.

changes: Abolishment of the office of Purchasing Arent, elimination of the extra

the monthly check of $10.00 to the Thrift Ho•?se. dropring of one day.man from
the Police force, abolishment of the office of Sanitary police, reducing the City
Library monthly '•jarrant x'10,00, reduction of all Councilmen's salaries by :i3 1/3°%,
reduction of all remaining salaries 25%. Alderman Stanford seconded by Alderman
Bynum trade the following motion: that the above recommendation be accepted, and
that the Ordinance Committee and. City Attorney be instructed to prepare resolu-
tions and Ordinances necessary to comply with same. Unon the question being put
before the Council it received their unanimous vote and the Yayor so declared.
