Minutes: Minutes of the regular meeting as held September 5th, 1932, were read"and approved by the unanimous vote of the council. Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Barr, Chairman of t e AudIiting Committee, whereupon Alderman Harding made a motion seconded by Alderman Byn k, that the bills be allowed. as approved and the clerk be instructed to draw warrants for same upon the proper funds. Upon the question being put before the council it received their unainimousv vote and the Mayor so declared and instruceted the clerk.: Southern Union Gas Co, $6.21;E. Report Report of the financial statement by the Commissioners in Improvement District r35 to can' St.by G.E. Ripley, Chr, and -Walker Kelley, Sec, was filed and read and upon a moti made by Alderman Bynum and seconded by Alderman Sanders, that the report be receibed filled, the motion received the unanimous vote of the council and was so declared by th Mayor. re Protest. Protest to The clerk read the filing of a protest to the proposed erection of a blacksmith shop on Blacksmith what is known as Stone shop* what is known as Stone Block, in said City, by Will Thomas or any.other person, said pro- test being ^igned by Mrs. C.B. Upon motion beinv, made by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Stanford, that said protest be hear by the council at its next regular meeting night on Sept loth,1932 and Ithe clerk be instructed to notify all parties interest in same, the motion being pit before bhe council it received their unanimous vote and was so declared by the Idayor and Ike inst,ructed the clerk. Police The matter of filling the vacancy created the office of the Police Judge, Vgethe death of the Judge: late,J.IF4. Phillips, was deferred until the next regular meeting night of the Council when I applications for this vacancy would be voted upon. i City The,election to fill the vacancy created in the office of City Clerk coming before the coun- Clerk cil; Alderman Gregory moved that the council go into an executive session, which was secon- C;lection', ded b Alderman Standford, and upon the motion being put before the council, it received their unanimous vote and the I+Sayor declared the council in executive session: The council accordingl proceeded to ballot for City Clerk with the following results: for Otoe Phillips, 5; For R.L: Taylor, 3; whereupon the Mayor declared Otoe Phillips elected as City Clerk until the next annual election. adjourn Motion was made by Alderman Sanders, seconded by Alderman Bynum, that the Council adjourn and upon the•motion being put before the council., it received their unanimous vote and the Coun- cil rias declared adjourned by the Mayor. attest: Approved: Aatinp City Clerk. _ Vayor.
