HomeMy WebLinkAbout1932-06-06 Minutes21 I I Fayetteville City Council met in regular session Monday June 6th,1932 ',Present Wm.F.Dunn City C1erk,Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Gregory,Carter,Harding.Sanders,Stanford,& Wage Mayor T.S.Tribble was absent on account of the graduating exercises at the University as his youngest daughter was graduating.City Attorney V James Ptak was also at the i, graduating exercises. City Clerk then called for the election of a Mayor Pro.Tem.whersupon Alderman Bynum was nominated by Alderman Barr and his nomination was seconded by Alderman Sanders, Alderman then nominated Alderman Harding and his nomination was seconded by Alderman Carter.Upon the.first ballot of Alderman Bynum the vote stood 5 for Alderman Bynum and 3 for Alderman Harding wherupon the Clerk declared Alderman Bynum elected as Mayor Pro. Alderman Bynum then took the Chair and ordered the Clerk to read the minutes which were read and approved by the unaminous vote of the Council. Reports i reports of Mayor T.S.Tribble as purchaseing Agent,Wm.F.Dunn.a.s City Clerk and Desk Sargeant,M.Cunningham as City Collector,J.M.Phillips as Police Judge,Clyde Walters as Chieffof Fire Department were read in their entirety and after the reading of the same a motion was made by.Alderman Wages and seconded by Alderman Harding that the reports ' received as read and the Clerk instructed to file the same.Upon the motion being put be. the Council,it received their unaminouse vote and the -Mayor Pro.Tem .so declared and or' the Clerk to file the same. Curb: Algie Moore asked that he be given permission to cut the Curb on South Fourth Street to make a driveway to his filling Station,whereupon Alderman Sanders made a motion that wa seconded by Alderman Stanford that Mr.Moore be granted this request with the work to be done under the supervision of the City Gngineer.Upon the question being put before the Councll,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayo r Pro.Tem so declared and instruc the Clerk to notify the City Engineer. Alderman Barr made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Sanders.that.the council adjol and upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and Mayor Pro Tem Bynum declared the Councilas adjourned.
