Fayetteville City Council met in regular session May.23rd,1932

Ratliff,Chief of Police Neal Cruse,Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Carter,Gregory,Sanders,Stanford,
and Wages& Harding.
of the regular meeting as held on May 16th,1932 were read and approved by the unaminoua
vote of the Council.
The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Barr,Chairman of, the
Auditing Committee,whereupon Alderman Harding made a motion that was seconded by Alderman
Bynum that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants
upon the proper funds for the payment of the same,Upon the question being put before the
Council it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor so declared and ordered.Bills:
Ark.Western Gas Co.$6.05,Carrington Oil Co. $0.60,Diamond Oil Co. $6.00,Lawrence Gibson
$5.00,J.J.Johnson.$2.75,1vee Lacy $1.25,.Lewis Chev Co.$0.60,Magnolia Pet Co. $0.60,Ozark

Ave.A letter was read from the Commissioners of Willow Ave ..Improvement District in which

they made a finianciAl statement and asked that the District be dissolved and the Commissiomer
be discharged. Alderman Harding made a motion that the report be accepted,received and
filed and that the Commissioners be discharged and the Amount of $198.49 be placed in

a special.fund for, the repairs.that may be necessary in this district.Alderman Barr
seconded the motion.After some discussion the Mayor put the question before the Council with
the'ifollowing vote resulting.Ayea.Barr,Gregory,Harding. Nays.Bynum,Carter,Sandere.Stanfird,
& Wsgee.The Mgyror declared the motion as lost as there were 3 Ayes and Nays.
iy: Mr Jim.McIlroy, appeared before the Council and asked that he be allowed to repair the
building on West Dixon Street that had.been wrecked by Dean Droke.After haeMr.IIcIlroy
had'stated his request Alderman Sanders made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Bar
that Mr.meilroy be allowed to restore.his building on West Dixon Street under the super

of the Building Inspector.Alderman Stanford else-rese and objected as he stated that the
motion was out of order as it had been improperly stated. Much discussion arose both pr

snd'Con and finally after.much diseussAon Alderman Sanders with .the Consent of Alderman
Barr withdrew his motion. Thus the matter was left.
gen: Mr.Heerwagen appeared before the Council with a request to place an awning across
sidewalk'in frontof the Washington Hotel. He was infromed that this matter belonged and
the supervision.of the Building Inspector and was referred to him.
North Street: The question came up before the Council in regard to North Street Whereupon Alde
Stanford made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Carter that the Mayor appoint a
opmmittee of three to confer with Supt. Cantrell of the Frisco R.R. and that this commit
have power to act. Upon the question being put before the Council,it received.their unan

vote and the Mayor so declared and.appointed the following Alderipen.to Act.Sandere,Barr,
2rd.H nd: The City attorney was requested to draw an'Ordinanee in regard to the liscense.for

secoad hand men also in regard to the tax on trucks in the City.
Alderman Sanders made a motion that was econded by Alder man Gregory that the Council
adjq,Arn.Upon the question being put before the Couneil,it received their unaminoua
and the Mayor declared the CouncAl.as adjourned.
