Jail: Alderman Wages presented nn estimate cost of a City jdil complete with cells.at an
estimate cost of y$780.60.1inder a discussion it was brought out that the cells could be
I left out with some other changes,wherupon Alderman Harding made amotion that was second
by Alderman Carter that the Committee be instructed to go further into the different wa
of erecting the ,jail with more compltet details of each project.Upon the question being
put before, the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor do declared and

exceed $15.00 per month for the use of his car on the Police force at night.Aldcrntan
Arrding then I..^dc a motion that the bill be allowed for a period of three months.The
motion ties lost for the want of a second.
Collins. The City Engineer M1r.E.Y.Ratliff then requested. a permit be granted to hit D.J.Collins
to cut the curb in front of the store building that tie was erecting on North C(hllege
Avanue,wherupon Alderman Gregory made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Stanford
that this permit be granted snd the ;cork to be done under the supervision of the City
Engineer•.tipon question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote a]
the Mayor so declared.
Alderman Bynum made a motion that was seconded. by Alderman Stanford that the Council
adjourn.Upon the question being put before the Council it received their unaminous vote
and the Mayor declared the Council as adjourned.

FAYETTEVILLE CITY COUNCIL MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON MAY 9th 1932
Present: Mayor T.S.Tribble,City Clerk Wm.F.Dunn,City Attorney V.James Ptak,Chief of Police Neal
Cruse and Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Gregory,IIarding,Stanford,& Wages.Absent Aldermen Carter
and Sanders.
Minutes of the regular meeting as held on Monday May 2rd were read and approved by the unaminous
vote of the entire Council!
Bills: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Barr,Chairman of th
Auditing Committee,whereupon Alderman Harding made a motion that was seconded by Alderm
Bynumthat the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructee to draw warrants
upon the proper funds for the payment of the same.Bills as follows:Osaar Reinolds '4.87

ReportsThe following monthly reports were read in their entirety,htayor T.S.Tribble as Purchase
Agent,Wm.F.Dunn as City Clerk, and Desk Sargeant,M.Cunningham as City Collector,J.M.
Phillips as Police Judge,Neal Cruse as Chief of Police,whereupon Alderman Bvnum made a

Clerk be instructed to file the same for future reference.Upon the motion being put before
the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor so declared.
The Clerk read a request from J.S. and J.R. Bates requesting the right to cut the curb and
sidewalk for a drive way to a neva filling station to be erected on their property on Westr
Dixon Street on the south side of the same just east of Vickers Laundry.Alderman Harding
made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Barrr that this request be granted and the Bork �-
to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.Upon the question being put before
the Council,it received their unaminous vo$e and the Mayor so declared,
)rs:Upon the question of hearing the petetion of some 20 proerty owners of Curb and gutter
Imn rovement District No.38 and Paving Improvement District No.39 for the removal of the
assessors,the council was advised by the City Attorney that the Council had no juriddiction
in this matter wherupon the Council refused to take any action.
Alderman Stanford intoduced an Ordinance entitled"An ordinance to amend Section Five of
Ordinance No.577,passed and approved on the 5th day of October,1925."This ordinance was
read in its entirety.Alderman Harding made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Bynum
that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be placed upon its second reading.Upon thle
question being put before the Council,the follv;wing vote resulted.Alderman Barr,Bynum,
Gregory,Harding,Stanford,& Wages voted Aye.Nays None Absent and not voteing Aldermen
Carter and Sanders.The Mayor declared the motion as carried and ordered the Clerk to read
the ordinance the second time.The Clerk then read the ordinance the second time in its Intirety.
After some discussion by the different Councilmen the ordinance was left on its second
reading.
Alderman Wages chairman of the Committee to see about a City jail asked for an extension of
time,which was granted.

Engineer be instructed to repair the alley on the south side of Dixon Street between
East Street and College Avenue ,just back of the residence property of B.N.N!ilson.Upon th
Juestion being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor
declared the motion as carried and instructed the Clerk to Notify Mr.Ratliff,City Engin er.
Alderman Harding made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Gregory that the Council
adjourn.Upon the question being put before the Couhcil,it received their unaminouse vote
and the Mayor declared the Council as adjourned.
