Neal Cruse,Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott,& Wages.
City Clerk announced that a motion was in order to elect a Mayor Pro.Tem. Whereupon Alderman
Scott made a motion that was seconded by Alderman Bynum that Alderman Stanford be, elected
Mayor Pro.Tem. Upon the question being put before the Council,it redeived their unaminous
vote and the Clerk so declared and Alderman Stanford then took the Chair..
The minutes of the regular meeting of the Council as held on February 8,1932 were read
and approved.
The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Scott,Chairman of the
Auditing Committee,whereupon Alderman Harding made a motion that the bills be allowed as
approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for the payment
of the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum.Upon the question being put before
the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem. so declared and instructd

STANDARD OIL CO. A letter was read from the Standard Oil Co.of La. in which they requested a refund
of $20.00 as paid in error on Pumps located on South School Street in front of J.B.CLARKS
Store.A motion was made by Alderman Barr and seconded by Alderman Scott that this money be

JIM LESTER: The Clerk read or presented a letter as written to Mr.Lester by the Mayor Pro.Tem.and
signed by the Chief of Police as a confirmation of the letter as>written by Mayor Tribble.
Mr.Lester claimed that he recognized this letter as his dismissal and as it was written on .
February 8,while the letter wtitten by Mayor Tribble was written on February 4th and contaid

ed a check for his services to that date,that the City still owed him for 4 days pay or $lbw
A motion was made by Alderman Sanders and seconded by Alderman Barr thatoMr.Lester be allow-
-ed this amount $10.67.Upon the question being put before the Council the following vote
j resulted Ayes.Alderman Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott.Nays.Alderman Stanford & Wages.
The Mayor Pro.Tem. declared the motion as carried as there were 5 Ayes and 2 N§rys and the
Clerk was instructed to draw warrant for the above amount.
SNOOKER: Alderman Scott intrmduced an Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION ONE OF
ORDINANCE NO 734,PASSED AND APPROVED ON THE_20th DAY OF APRIL 1931." This ordinance was
read in its entirety for the first time.Alderman Sanders made a motion that the rules be

read the Ordinance the second time in its entirety -.Then after much discussion both Pro.& Coe

then declared that the Ordinance had failed to pass as there were 3 Ayes and 4 Nays,
ILL: The Clerk then presented a bill for Mr.Lester in which.he asked to be re-inbursed for
Taxi hire and arrest while he was a policeman in the employ of the City.The Clerk was asked
if this bill was properly approved and when ibformed that it was nmt approved,the Clerk was
instructed to hold the bill over until the next meeting night and in the mean time to try and
get the same approved. I

The Clerk then informed the Council that he had a petetion from some of the Merchants on
Dickson Street and asked permission to read the Same.This petetion was declined to be read
on the ground that the Council did not hire or fire Mr.Lester and therefore did not care to
hear the petetion.
E SESSION:.A motion,was made by Alderman Wages and seconded by Alderman Barr that the City
Council..go,jinto,,an Executive Session.Upon the question being put before the Council,it rece ded
their unaminous vote.The Council than went into Executive session. Alderman Wages then sit6dd

that the Budget. Committee had their budget ready to present to the Council but as the matter
of the Veterns Hospital had to be entered into that this report would be with held until
after a joint meeting of the Finiance Committee with a Committee from the Water Plant and
the Chamber of Commerce.
A letter was read from the Board of Public Affairs as follows.V/e,the undersigned members of the
Board of Public Affairs of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,hereby request from your honorable
body -to advertise for bids and to award a contract for the purchases of an automobile truck)
for the use of the Street Department.Signed T.S.Tribhle,Chairman.Art.T.Lewis Member.

in the proper hands,whereupon Alderman Sanders made a motion seconded by Alderman Harding

The Mayor Pro. Tem then declared the Council as adjourned until 7 P.M.wednesday February
17,1932,when the Council would re -convene in Executive Session,
