Ratlif.f,Chief of Police Neal Cruse,Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott,Plages. MAYOR PRO.TEM. A motion was made hyd- Alderman Sanders and seconded by Alderman Scott that Alderman 'MINUTES Stanford be elected Mayor Pro. Tem. Uppn the question being put before the Council,it receivd their unaminous vote and Mayor Pro Tem then took the Chairs the regular meeting as held on January 18,1932 were read and approved by the unaminous vote of the Council. BILLS: IThe folowing bills were presented to the Council after their approval by Alderman Scott, chairman of the Auditing Committee,whereupon Alderman Wages made a motion that the mills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for the payment of the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum.Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and. the Mayor Pro.Tem so i i declared and the Clerk was so instructed.Bills,Southwestern Gas & Electric Co.$5.00 &$9.29, Palace Drug Store $4.78,Ben Porbbr $18.75,Dr.Ell.is $18.00,Di.11ard Qualls $2.50,L.A.Tollett $4.50,Shumate & Williams $30.00sLewis Bros Hdw.Co.$6.54,Magnolia Petroleum Co.$44.63,E. Barton $7,50,Yellow Cab & Taxi Co.$0,40, i ORDINANCE:An ordinance was introduced by Alderman Wages entitled"An ordinance granting W.vl.Craig the privilage of using the sidewalks of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,for the purpose of establishing and maintaining a sanitary system of waste receptacles for the use of the said city and for the benefit of its inhabitants for a period of**i'..-iei*Vears." This ordinance was read in its entirety for the first time.Alderman Harding then made a motion that was seconded by Alderman V[ages that the rules be suspended and the ordinance he place upon its second reading.Upon the question being put before the Council,the following Vote resulted.Ayes Alderman Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott,Stanford,!Nages,Nays None.Absent and not voteing None. HANGERS: City Engineer E.M.Ratliff then stebed to the Council that Mr.Bryan Fork and Mr.E.V.Bird,Pres Fayetteville Aircraft Co, desired a permit to build -and maintain for a period of six months ,tempory hangers at the Airport.Alderman Harding then made a motion that these two gentleman be granted the request,and the right to build and the place of building be left to the This motion was seconded by Alderman Wages, Mayor,City Clerk,& City Engineer.Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem.so declared. TRAFFIC: Alderman Barr then made the following report as a result of the meeting as held and invest- -igated by the Committe as appointed to meet with the Commercill truck operators of the City. j The following rebhil merchants were consulted and the following facts were ascertained. On One (1) hour parking.For 14,Against 4,undecided 6,On One(1) way driving in alleys around the Square.For 25 Against l,On unloading of trucks in the rear.For 25,Against 1. The Board of Govenors of the Chamber of Commerce on consultation stood 9 or unaminous for eah of the foregoing questions.Part of the Board of Govenors were included in the Retail merchants. A Motion was made by Alderman Rages and seconded by Alderman Bynum that the report of the j Committe be accepted and the Clerk file the same for future reference and the Committee be discharged. Upon the Question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote land the MaSror Pro.Tem so declared.
