A motion was made by Alderman Wages and seconded by Alderman Sanders That Alderman MINUTES' BILLS: Stanford be elected Mayor Prp.Tem. Upon the question being put before the Council,it j received their unaminous vote and the Clerk declared Alderman Stanford elected and he took the chair. I of the"regular meeting as held on January 4th were read and approved by the unaihinous vote of the .Council. The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Barr of the Auditing Committee,whereupon Alderman Bynum made a motion that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for the payment of the same as approved.This motion was seconded by Alderman Harding.Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem so declared.Bills:Cravens & Co.$106.25,Harry E.Hamilton, ;17.00 & 2.76,Lewis Bros.Hdw.Co.$1.05 & 2.10,Otis Parker $4.250V7m.F.Dunn$3.00,Ben Porter $18.,75 .A.17ilkerson$9.75,Fayetteville Coal Co.$1.10,Arkansas Gas Co.$$6.050H.C.Liepsner & Co.$66.08, Thomas & Son $1.50,Shumate & Williams$30.00,Harper Brush Works $15.00, SHUMATE & WILLIAMS repobbed 190 blocks of City Streets cleaned during the past week whereupon Alderman) Vdages made a motion that the report be accepted and filed.This motion was seconded by Alderman Waste Sanders.Upon the motion being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem so declared. A letter of .thanks was read from Mrs. Tribble and Daughters thanking the_Council for the flowers sent to the Mayor on Christmas. ins. Mr.W.W.Craig was before the Council asking for a five year contract with the City to I furnish waste cands to hold the waste paper and trash for the privilige of selling the advertiseing space on them.After some discussion,this matter was left over until the next meeting of the Council and the Clerk was instructed to thke the matter of the waste cans owned by the City and upon which the advertiseing was left to Mayor Tribble.The Council did not know what disposition the Mayor had made of this matter.. by Alderman Bynum A motion was made and seconded by Alderman Wages that the Council adjourn.Upon the question' being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem so 4 declared the Council as adjourned. PFARSON:IA letter of resignation of Alderman Clem Pearson of the Third Ward was read to the Council, COAL STE Whereupon Alderman Scott made a motion the his resignatioA be accepted and the same filed the Clerk in the proper mannner.This motion was seconded by Alderman Barr.Upon the question put before the Council the following vote resulted.Ayes Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott,St Fages,Nays.None.The Mayor Pro.Tem declared the resignation as accepted and that there now e. vacancy in Ward Three of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas and that the same would be fill t the City Democratic Primary to be held in this City on Feb.23,1932. . Alderman Harding reported that there was a coal house back of the Welch Building on C Street that projected two feet over the alley and.the same should be moved.Alderman Sanders a motion that the Mayor Pro.Tem. appoint a committee of three to.meet with the City and members of the Hospital Board to see.after this matter.This motion was seconded by A Barr.Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and ing ord, sted Pro.Tem so declared and appointed the following Alderman on.the Committee.Harding.Wages, Scott. A motion was made by Alderman Barr and seconded by Alderman Scott.that the matter of let a contract to Mr. Craig for waste paper cans in the City be left until the return of Mayor Tribble to the Council.Upon the question being put before the Counci,it received their u vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem so declared. TRAFFICS Upon the appearance of some of the business men of the city in regard to the question of e parking coming up.a motion was made by Alderman V/ages,seconded by Alderman Barr that the Mayor Pro.Tem appoint a Committe of three to meet with the Police and Business men to s er if some satisfactory plan could not be thrashed out that would be just and right to all parties concerned.Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their umaminous vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem. so declared and appoint the following Aldermen on the Committee. Barr,Bynum,Sanders. BIDS: As the bids on street Cleaning were advertised to be opened upon this date and at this time. A motion was made by Alderman Sanders that the bids be opened as advertised and the names & bids be listed by the Council and the same to be taken udder advisement.This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum.Upo the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous voje,and the Mayor Pro.Tem then instructed the Clerk to open and read the bids as submitted.
