PRESENT.Mayor Pro.Tem Roy Scott,City Clerk Wm.F.Dunn,City attorney V.James.Ptak,City Enginerre E.M. Ratliff,Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott,Stanford,Wages. MDYOR PRO.TEM. Alderman Wages made a motion that Dr.J.F.Stanford be nominated Mayor Pro. Tem for the ' for the entire time of the absence of the Mayor,T.S.Tribble,except that he shall be elected from week to week until further devolepments.This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum. Upon the question being put before the Council,the following vote resulted.Ayes Barr,Bynum, Harding,Sanders,Scott,Stanford,Plages. Nays Nohe Absent and not voteing Alderman Pearson. Mayor Pro.Tem J.F.Stanford then took the chair: - A.C.Bodln: Mr.Bodin was present but the Commissioners were not present and a motion was made by (Alderman Wages,seconddd by Alderman Sanders.that the protest be postponed until next regular j -- meeting night in order that the assessment might be properly looked into. Upon the question being i put before the Council it received the unaminous vote of the Council and the Maypr Pro Tem so declared. Earl Bates.The request of Mr.F.arl Bates asking for the Consideration of.a remedy of the condition as existed at his store building on North College Avenue was left to the Street Committee and the City Engineer for investigation and a report was to be made next Monday Night. Blaine; The firm of Blaine -Brewer & Lance requested the privilige to run some electric light wires across ' the Square to the Post Office Building in.the Center of the.Square.As all light and telephone wires were removed from overhead around the square in August 1925 and conduits were run underneath the pavement,a motion was made by Alderman Harding and seconded by Alderman prt o-�+e _:i.�aC:; �%�-w�; OZ Lav�o,�e-tc'+.-c. Alderman Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Scott,Wages.Nays. None. Absent and not voteing Alderman Pearson. BURSON.iCity Clerk explained to the Council that Officer D.H.Bureon desired to purchase a revolver for use on the City Police Force and in order that he might save the 10% excise tax that the Clerk had told him to deposit the amount of the purchase price of the bevolver $28.60 with the City Collector and that he had done so and the C1'erk held the receipt of the City Collecto and asked that a motion be passed authorizeing the City.Clerk to draw a warrant upon the General fAnd for this amount$28.60 payable to W.S.Dorley & Co of Chicago,Ill in payment of this a revolver.A motion was made by Alderman Harding that the Clerk be instructed to draw a warrant for $28.60 payable to,W.S.Darley & Co,Chmcago,Ill for the Payment of a revolver for D.H.Burson.The revolver to be the personal property of Officer Burson as he had deposited $28.60 with the City Collector,same deposited to the General Fund.This motion was seconded by Alderman Scott. Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and the EaVnviPreoTem so declared. —P Minutes of the regular meeting as held on December 14,1931 were read and approved by the unaminous vote of the Council, The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Scott of the Auditing I . I Committee,whereupon a motion was made by Alderman Vdages that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for the payment of. the bills as approved. This motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum. Upon the question being put before the Council,ib received their unaminouls j vote and the Mayor Pro.Tem. so declared.
