FAYETTEVILLE CITY COUNCIL MET IPI REGULAR SESSION MONDAY DECEMBER 14,1931.
PRESENT: I City Clerk Ph;i.F.Dunn,City Attorney- V.James Ptak, City Engineer E.M.Ratliff,Chief of Police
Neal Cruse,Alderman Barr,Bynum,Harding,Snaders,Scott,Stanford,& Wages.
CITY CLERK P1m.F.Dunn in the absence by serious sickness of Mayor T.S.Tribble called for
nominations of Mayor Pro.Tem.whereupon Alderman Harding nominated Alderman Roy Scott as
Mayor Pro.tem. for the week of December 14 to 21st.1931.Alderman Sanders then moved the m
nominations be closed and upon a vote being put before the Council the following Aldermen
voted Aye.Barr,Bynum,Harding,Sanders,Stanford,Piages.Present and not voteing Alderman Scott,
Absent Alderman Pearson.City Clerk then declared Alderman Suott as elected Mayor Pro.Tem.
and Alderman Scott then took the chair.

Minutes.IMinutes of the meeting as held on December 7,1931 were read and approved by the unaminous
e of the Council;
Bills. � The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Scott,Chairman of the
Auditing Committee,whereupon Alderman Harding made a motion that the bills be allowed as
approved by
the Auditing Committee and the Clerk
be instructed to draw warrants
upon the
(proper funds
for their payment. This motion was
seconded by Alderman Barr. Up6n
the quest
being put before the Council,it carried unaminously and the Mayor,Pro.tem So declared. Bills.l
S.17.Gas & Elec.Co.S520.00,S17 BEll Tel Co.$35.08,Kay Phillips $10.00,E.Barton $10.00,Henry
Vaughn $3.75,Shumate & Williams $30.00.Ben Porter $18.75.
Shumate & Williams made a report of 178 blocks of paved streets cleaned the prvious week,
tivhereupon Alderman Harding made a motion that the report be accepted as read and the Clerk
instructed to file the same in its proper manner.This motion was seconded by Alderman Barr.
Upon the question being put before the Council,it•received their unam-inous vote and the
Clerk was instructed.
L.Trent; The protest that was to have been heard as entered by Mr.A.L.Trent on his assessment in
Sewer Bind water No.39 on lots 10 & 13 in Block 13 of City -Park Eddittion.-wasnot heard be I
because of the fact that Mr.Trent did not appear at the proper place at the proper time
and the Mayor declared his right of protest as forfeited and the assessment to stand as
assessed by the assessors.This was done by the unaminous consent of the Council present.
Protest; A rpotest was'read from Mr. A.C.Bodin against the assessment as levied in improvement
District No.31 against Lot 5 in Block 8 of Davidsons second Addition. The Mayor Pro.Tem. I
sbt Monday Night December 21st,1931 as the date of the hearing of this protest and all other
protest that might be filed in this District before the time of expiration of •fi•ling date
which is Saturday December 19,1931. This action was taken after a motion by Alderman
Hardin and seconded b Alderman Wages that this Action be taken.•This motion was
Harding y g passed by
the unaminous vote of the Council.
Alderman Harding made a motion that the Council adjourn,this was seconded by Alderman I
Sanders. Upon the question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and
Mayor.Pro.Tem. Scott declared the Council as adjourned.
