Hlinutos f the regular meeting of the City Council as held on Oct.26th,1931 were read and approved
by the unaminous vote of the Council.
Bil.lo: The following bills were presented after their approval by Alderman Scott of the Auditing
coi mittee,ans a motion was merle by Alderman Bynum and seconded by Alderman Sanders 1:1-iat
the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper
funds foo their payment.Upon the question being put before the Council,it car::^ied unaminously

Reports: The following reports were presented and read before the Council.Tne finlancial report of
Douglas Street Improvement District No.l. The monthly report- of Mayor T.S.Tribble as Purcha
',;ent,Report of :?m.F.Dunn,City C1erk,i.Cunningham as City Collector,J.Li.Phillips as Police
Judge,Iieal Cruse as Chief of Police. A motion was made by Alderman Scott that the reports
Ibe accepted as read and the Clerk be instructed to file them in their proper manner.This
�motion was seconded by Alderman Bynum.The mayor Bien put; the question and it received the
'unaminous vote of. the Council and the Mayor so instructed the Clerk.
CURB PbJ:PS: Lr.Tuck appeared before the Council and asked permission tb install two Curb pumps on

Past Meadow Street in front of his building.A motion was made by Alderman Harding that ijr,

tine installation to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.This motion was
seconded by Alderman Stanford.Upon the question being put,it carried the unaminous bote or

BILLS: The following bills were presented to the Council after their approval by Alderman Barr,of

the Auditing Committee,and a motion vias made by Alderman 17ages that the bills be allowed as
approved and that the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for the
payment of the same. This motion was seconded by Alderman Sanders. Upon the question being

I+iajor B.R.Davidson was presented and entered a protest on his assessment on property,claim
to be in two districts.City Attorney was asked to look up the validity of protest and

report hack to the Council next iv"onday night.
PROTEST of B.J.Dunn against his assessment on Alley Improvement District no.40 was filed and the Cle
was instructed to notify the Commissioners'of this District that a hearing would be held on this
protest and all other protestsfiled imbebien meanwhile on the night of november 16,1931 at 7.P.1M.
PERMITS: A request was made by Mr Falter Duggans to cut the Stbeet or. East Lafayette Avenue in front of thE,
property of Leland Bryan for the pux•pose of installing a sewer connection.
The City ngineer asked for a permit to be granted the Liagnolia Petroleum Co to cut the sur et on
School Street for the purpose of installing a sewer connection.A motion was made by Alderinp.r Sanders
and seconded by Alderman Stanford that these permits be granted under the supervision of thE City
Engineer.Upon the question being put,it received the unaminous vote of the Council and the Ivayor
so declared.
Sinclai Oil Co.representatives appeared before the Council and asked permission to move two t9oragE tanks
on west Street to their propertyon Taylor and North Streets ,where they would erect three storage
tanks. A motion was made by Alderman iFlages that this permit be granted under the supervisior of the
City Engineer.This motion was seconded by Alderman Har.ding.10pon the question being put,it r ceived
the unaminous vote of the Counc.;. an(, Hayor so declared.
Mr.J.K.Cregory as'red permission to cut the curb :Cor a. driveway in .front of his property at Ill
East Iv:aple Street.A motion was made by Alderman 17Rges and seconded by Alderman Scott' that t is
permit be granted and the work to be done uncor the supervision of the City F.ngineer.The May r
then put the question and it carried uraminously.
The Pdayor told the Council that the truck that was in use by the city was worn out and costing
too much .for repairs and that by trading the same ir_ now that the City could get at least 9OO
ore from the Chevrolet I14otor. Co. than they could by waiting to the first of the year.After J�
brief discussion Alderman Harding made a motion that the Street Committee investigate a t'radE in
ropersition both from the 'Chevrolet I:Iotor Co.'end' the Ford Agency and report hack their finding
to the City Council on 'Monday november 16,1931. This maotion i* s seconded by Alderman Scott.
Upon the question being put,it carried unaminously and the a.

The question of heating the building at night was discussed and finally ,.eft to the City Attorney
for an opinion•.
