IJINUTES Of the regular meeting of the City Council for the meeting held on Sept.28th,1931 were read and approved by the unaminous vote of the Council. BILLS: The following bills weroe presented after their approval by Alderman Scott;Chairman of the Auditing Committee,whereupon a motion was made by Alderman Harding that the bills be allowed as approved and the Clerk be instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds for the payment Of the same.This motion was seconded. by Alderman Stanford.Upon the question being put before the Council the vote was 7 Ayes and no dissenting voteswhereupon the Yayor declared the motion as carried and so instructed the C1erk.Bills as follows:1?.To. REPORTS: The following monthly reports were read in their entirety:I.Iayor T.S.Trihble;s report a.s purchaseing Agent.,City Clerk C!m.F.Dunn,City Collector Id.Cunningham,Police Judge J.I.:.Phillips,l Clyde Walters,Chief of Fire Department,Neal Cruse,Chief of Police. Report of the Commissioners of Improvement District No.43. A motion was made by Alderman Fiages and seconded by Alderman Bynum that these reports be accepted as read and the Clerk be instropcted to file the same in their proper marner.Upon the `,question being put before the Council,it received their unaminous vote and was so declared by the Mgvor. PROTEST: of C.C.Phillips against his assessment in i,:t.ITord Improvement District ITo.l. was next before the Council. Commissinor II.F.Drake of L:t.iford Improvement District No.loo was present and explained how the assessment was made and that the District had assessed within tenw10.00I dollars of the amount needed to pay this years obligations of the vistrict.Mr.Phi.11.ips stated that after the manner of assessment was explained to him be hlr.Drake ti -at he thought the assesserent was fd.ar and just but a little high,A motion was made by Alderman i?ages and e seconded by Alderman Bynum that the assessment stand as made by the assessors.LTpon the que.,Li being put py the L:ayor,it received the unaminous vote of the Council and the I::ayor declared t assessment to stand as made by the Assessors. REQUEST: A request was made by I,Ir.C."i. Beaver that he be granted to fill with gravel the gutter on th6 ,-;est side of School Street from his north line to his south line of lots 3 a 4. A motion was made by Alderman Scott,seconded by Alderman Bynum that this matter be deferred until the return to the City of Engineer E.E.Ratl.i.ff.Upon the question being put,it carried unaminouslyi,I and was so declared by the h,Iayor. TAX LT,,WY: The Clerk then presented the tax levy for the fear 1931 which was read and discussed after I �1� i15( d which a motion was made by Alderman Sanders that the tax levy be adopted and Clerk ordered to file the same with the County Clerk of the County of Washinton in the State of Arkansas.
