PRESENT:JMayor T.S.Tribble,City Clerk Pim.f.Dunn,City Attorney V.James Ptak,City Engineer E.M.Ratliff, Chief of Police Neal Cruse and Alderman Barr,Bynum,Harding,Pearson,Sanders,Scott,Stanfo.rd, and 17ages: MINUTESiof the regular meeting held.on June29,1931 were read and approved. ORTS The street cleaners Shumate & Vlilliams reported 170 blocks of paved streets cleaned and ,upon a motion the report was accepted and clerk ordered to file the same. E ZONE: The next matter of importance brought to the attention of the Council was the ordinance inl regard to extending the fire zones.The City Clerk read a protest containing 125 names of it property owners in the proposed extension and a letter of protest from J.C.Futrall.fAterney (Abner Hurst,representing the property owners made a long talk.Several talks were made by different members of the council and after mush discussion both Pro.& Con. Alderman Stanford, seconded by Alderman Barr made the following motion.That the two ordinances in regard to I 'extending the Fire Zones as introduced June22,1931 & June 2.9,1931. be left on the second reading and before the council would take up and consider them. that the property owners in thtsSdistrictswould be given ample notice of their consideration.Upon the question being I put before the Council it received the following vote.Ayes Alderman Barr,Bynum,Harding, Pearson,Sanders,Stanford,& 17ages.Faye a*Alderman Scott,Absent and not voting.None: The Mayor declared the motion as carried as the vote stood Ayes 7 Nays 1. CURB CUT: A request of James J.Kane & Robert L.Kane requesting the right to cut the curb on the east side of Gregg Street just off Dickson Street.A Motion was made by Alderman Sanders,seconded [by Alderman Pearson that this be permitted to be done under the supervision of the City iFngineer.Upon the motion being put it carried unaminously. DELMAR CgLLINS: A motion was made by Alderman Scott,seconded by Alderman Pearson that the request of Delmar Collins that his resignation as member of the Board of Improvement of Annex I4o.]. to North College Ave.Improvement District 11o.l. and of Annex No.l.to Cater Improvement District' No.l. be accepted as presented to the Council at its regular meeting on June 15,1931 be accepted.Upon the motion being put it carried unaminously and was so declared by the Mayor. NORTH STREET: Alderman Vlages,seconded by Alderman Bynum made a motion that the Mayor appoint a committee to work with the County Judge in regard to opening North Street from North Collegd Avenue to the north end of Leverette Street.Upon the question being put it carried unaminous: ,and was so declared by the Mayor.The Mayor then appointed the following Commmittee Alderman Sanders,Scott,& Barr. Alderman Harding seconded by Alderman Scott made a motion that the council adjourn.Upon I ;question being put it carried unaminously and the mayor declared the council) adjourned.
