Fayetteville City Council met in regular session on Monday June 22,1931.

Minutes;lof the regular meeting of June 15,1931 were read and approved.
Bills: jTbe following bills were presented after proper endorsement of the finiance commmittee and
upon motion by Alderman Harding,seconded by Alderman '''ages that the bills be allowed and
Clerk instructed to draw warrants for the payment of the same under the proper funds.Upon
the question being put before the 6ouncil,it carried unaminously and was so ordered.Bills

�Reporte. The street Cleaner Shumate & Williams reported 166 blocks of city streets cleaned during the
week,18 blocks of streets flushed and one(1) culvert cleaner: out. Upon motion this report
was ordered accepted and ordered filed.Upon the question being put it carried unaminously

jBond release; Upon a receipt of a letter from Consolidated Indeminity and Insurance Co, in regard to
having a release from the bond issued on May lst,193M and expiring May lst,1931 in the am
of $3000.00 on M.Cunningham,City Collector.Upon a motion by Alderman Pearson,seconded by
Alderman Bynum that the City release this bond as a neww bond on M.Cunningham for the sum
$3000.00 had been issued and filed to take the place of this bond that the City release t'.
bond.Upon the question being put it carried unaminously and was so ordered by the Mayor.
LETSCH: Hiss June Letsch appered before the council again in regard to drainage of water on her pr
712 W.Maplee Street. and after much discussion a motion was made by Alderman Scott,seconded
rAlderman IIarding that the matter of repairing this condition be left entirely to the discre
of Mayor Tribble and the Street Committee.Upon the question being put before the council,i

carried unaminously and was so ordered.
;Alderman Stanford introduced an ordinance to be entiiled,"An ordinance extending the Fire
Limits of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,and providing additional requirements for the
construction of certain buildings in the Fire Zones and in the Intermediate Zones."This
was read the first time.Alderman Stanford moved that the rules be suspended and the ordinance
be put upon its second reading.This motion was seconded by Alderman Barr and received the
following vote.Ayes Barr,Bynum,Harding,Pearson, Sanders,Scott,Stsnford,l"ages. Nays.None,Absent
and not voting None.The Mayor declared the motion carried.The ordinance was then read the
second time. After much discussion as to the bourdries as outlined in this ordinance.Alderman
Pearson moved that the boundry as outlined in the ordinance reading"thence west to the ST.Lolzis
& Sanfrancisco Railroad rightway,thence south along the companys right of wa:a to its intersection
with the North line of Rock Street" be stricken out and the following boundry be inserted in
its place"thence west to the East side of West Street,thence south along the East side of
IWest Street to its intersection with the North line of Rock Street". Alderman Stanford sec
the amendement.Upon the question being put before the Council it received the following vote.
Ayes Barr,Bynum,Hard.ing,Pearson,Sanders,Scott,Stanford,Viages.Nays None. Absent & not voting,�iv
The Change was declared as carried by the Mayor.This ordinance was left on its second reading
Alderman Pearson introduced an ordinance entitled"An Ordinance placing a limit on the time a)
Building Permit will be issued and for other purposes."This ordinance was read the first time
Alderman Stanforded moved that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed upon its
second reading.This motion was seconded by Alderman Sanders.Upon the question being put befor
,the Council the following vote resulbod.Ayes Barr,Bynum,Harding,Pearson,Sanders,Scott,Sta
1' ages.ATays.None.Abser_t and not voting None. The motion_ was declared passed by the Mayor.
Ordinance was the read a second time.Alderman Harding made a motion thta the ordinance be

6 months be inserted in its place: This amendement was seconded by Alderman Bynum.Upon the
question being put before the Council by the Mayor it received the following vote.Ayes:
Bynum, Harding, Sanders, Scott, Wage s.Nays: Barr, Pearson, Stanford, Absent and not voting None.

was left on its second reading.
A motion by Alderman Scott,seconded b4y Alderman Stanford that the Council adjourn was
put before the Council by the Mayor and carried unaminously and the Couuncil was declared �

MINUTE'S ,of the regular meeting of June 22blI.1931 were read and approved with the correction in regard
to ordinance introduced in regard to extending the fire zone which should have read and left

to the investigation and recommendations of the Ordinance Committee.
BILLS: The following bills were presented after proper endorsement' of the Chairman of the Auditing
Committe Alderman Scott and was upon motion by Alderman Wages,seconded by Alderman Sanders
that the bills be allowed and City Clerk draw warrants for the payment of same under the
proper funds.Upon the question being put the motion carried unaminously and was declared
so ordered by the Mayor.Bills as follows:Otis Parker $5.10,Bob Phillips $36.00,Ben Porter
18.75,Shumate & Williams $30.00,E.VI.Shuford $5.50,Arkansas Western Gas Co $72.50,H.B.Paisl y

REPORTS: The street cleaners Shumate & Williams reported 168 blocks of city paved streets cleaned and,
6 blocks flushed.Upon motion this report was ordered accepted and ordered filed.The question
being put it carried unaminously and was so ordered.
OLD AIRPORT: The Clerk reported that the City would have a proposition in a few day, �,to lease the
old Airport for a night golf driving course whereupon Alderman Scott,seconded by Alderman
POLES:
Harding made the following motion. That the Mayor T.S.Tribble and City Clerk VIm.F.Dunn be
givedauthority to sign and make the best lease possible on the old airport for a night
golf driving course. Upon the question being put the motion carried unaminously and was soi
declared by the Mayor. i
City Clerk reported and read report from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. that they had
within the city limits of Fayetteville,Arkansas on the 30th day of June 1931.997 poles
upon which they paid pole tax. The report from the Southwestern Gas & Electric Co.reportedj
that they had within the city limits of Fayetteville,Arkansas.1047 poles upon which they

paid pole tax. A motion was made and-seaended Pearson and seconded by Alderman Stanford
that these reports be accepted and filed by the City Clerk. Upon the question being put,it

Street which is now used as a Garage. A motion was made by Alderman Pearson,seconded by

Alderman Sanders that this permit be granted under the supervision of the City Engineer

ORDINANC Alderman Wages chairman of the Ordinance cormnittee reported that after the introduction
,of an ordinance on June 22rd in regard to changing the fire zone and as this ordinance was i
