HomeMy WebLinkAbout1931-06-15 Minutesn 585 PAYE".'TEVILLF CITY COUNCIL 144 IN REGULAR SESSION ON L'ONDAY JUNE 15th,1931 PRESENT: B;ayor T.S.Tribble,City Clerk VIm.F.Dur_n,Attorney V.James Ptak,City Engineer E.M.Ratliff, and Aldermen Barr,Bynum,Harding,Pearson,Sanders,Scott,Stanford,& Wages, REPORTS: BILLS: Minutes of regular meeting of June 8,1931 were read and approved. The report of the street cleaner showed 170 blocks of city streets cleaned,6 blocks of street flushed and 18 loads of dirt removed and replaced on streets that was washed out. This report was upon motion accepted and ordered filed .This carried unaminously. The following bills were presented after proper approve, by the finiance committee and � by a motion of AldermanSanders ,seconded by Alderman Pearson tha$ the bills be allowed and City Clerk instructed to draw warrants upon the proper funds to take care of same. Upon ote this motion carried unaminously and was so declared by the Mayor.Bills are as follows: Southwestern Bell Te1.Co. $33.14,Eason & Co.,$62.50,Lemm Guinn $7.50,Fayetteville Machine S Shop $2.00,Dick Swaggerty $6.30,H.H.Carruthers $0.60,Ben Porter $18.75,Shumate & Williams q�,�11 $30.00,Fureka Fire Hosi,'Hewitt-Gutta Percha Rubber Corporation $1441.00,Sam Little $16.25, Henry Paisley $20.17. MISS LET,SCH: Mr.H.O.Davis and Miss June Letsch appeared before the council and asked that something be done by the city in regard to the wafer running over her property and damageing it veryi materially.She staid that this condition did not exist until the City turned the water as it I now exists.A Notion was made by Alderman Pearson,seconded by Alderman Stanford that the city engineer examine this condition and report back his reccommendations at next regular Council I meeting.Upon the question being put it carried unaminously and was so ordered. I CONFEIER TE CEfaETARY:Mrs.P.I4.Heerviagen.Mrs.Tom Logan.irs Dr.Hathcock,& Judge ]Lee Seamster appeared i I before the council and asked th at the City gravel the road_to the Confederate cemetary a distance of 1160 feet.After discussion of this matter both pro and con. a motion was made by Alderman Pearson,seconded by Alderman Sanders that if the County Judge would grade this I 'road to grade set by City Engineer E.M.Ratliff and Mrs.Logan would raise and turn over to I the City the sum of $100.00 that the city would gravel this read as their part of contract ' -OtaZ otherwise if all conditions were not fully filled by all parties concerned1the city would be relieved of their obligation. Upon the question being put it carried unaminously. IRPORT FILLING STATION: A motion was made by Alderman Pearson ,seconded by Alderman Sanders that thef City Engineer write all Pdajor Oil Companies and ask them to express themselves in regard ,to whether they desired to place bids on this Airport filling station and that all proposals, I be left over until Monday June 22,1931. Upon the question being put it carried unaminously.
