The .report of the Street Cleaner showing 183 blocks cleaned durigg the week was presented, and on motion was ordered filed. The Engineer reported that the culvert asked for by Mr Mathis,for his use at his Sto on Garland Avenue would cost,if built of cmncrete,about $170.00;. if constructent_•with tile, $100.00 to ?115.00. No action was taken on the request. The Mayor reported that Eason & Company, who had written the bonds for Plumbers in the Home Accident Insurance Company, had renewed the same in another Company,and that they would be filed with the City Clerk. There was no report from the Board of Public Affairs as to the purchase of Casings inner tubes for Fire Truck No. 75. A communication from Miss Sue Walker relative to the unsightly plie of rubbish North of the Confederate Cemetery was read to the Council,whereupon Alderman Scott moved that the Mayor and the Street Committee investigate the matter of covering same with earth and repor This motion was duly seconded and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council. A communication from Gess-Rogers suggested changes in location and fixtures for the Alley Lights,and gave an estimate of the cost of installation. On motion duly passed, this matter was referred to the Chairman of the Light Committee for investigation and report. No further business appearing,the Council adjourned on motion duly passed.
