The Mayor, T.S.Tribble, Clerk J.C.Massie, Attorney V.James Ptak, Engineer E.M.Ratliff; ldermen John Bynum, Don Fuller, C.T.Harding, Clem Pearson, Roy Scott, DR.J.F.Stanford, .S.Stephens, R.E.Wages. S of the meeting of January 12th,1931 were read and approved. ING BILLS against the City, peoperly approved,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk 1 irected to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderan Fuller, passed by thb unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Maybr;- J.W.Shelly, $42.50;Lewis Brothers Comapny $810.05 and $3.63; John Zillah $#6.25;Ben Porter $18.75; Seaburn Page $1.50;Otis Parker $4.25; DR.V1m.L.Bleecker $15.00; McIlroy Bank and Trust Comapny $Y698.33. The Report of the Street Cleaner showing 159 blocks cleaned during the week was presented a on motion was ordered filed. A protest against the building of a tin -shop at #213 Sputh Block Avenue was presented, and after discussion, Alderman Scott moved that the Mayor appoint a Committee to investi- gate and report, This motion was duly passed and the Mayor appointed as such committee Ald men Scott and Stanford. In the case of McKim collision with a fire truck,it was suggested that he be brought before the Police court and fined for violation of City Ordinance,and the quest of suit for damages be further investigated. M 555 FIRE A communication from the Board of Public Affairs was presented to the Council; TRUCK CASINGS: Fayetteville,Arkansas January 19th,1931. TO THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARK. � Gentlemen; i We, the Board of Public Affairs of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,hereby report that we have examined the need of purchasing four new casings with tubes for the Fire Truck, Type 75; and find that this is necessary to insure the safety of members of the Fire Department,and request that you pass an ordinance authorizing the Board of Public Affdirs to advertize for bids for the purchase of same. jT.S.Trihble; A.E.Qollier, Art T. Lewis. Whereupon Alderman Scott introduced such ordinance,as requested which was read the first time. Alderman Harding moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance replaced on its second reading. Alderman Bynum seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens, Wages; nays none; absent) i and not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed. The Ordinance was read the second' time. Alderman Pearson then moved that the Rules be further suspended and the ordinance placed i on its third reading and final passage. Alderman Stanford seconded this motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott Stanford, Stephens,) I Wages; nays none; absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed. I The Ordinance was read the third time. The Mayor then announced the question before the Coune i cil is,shall the Ordinance pass, and called for the vote on its passage,which resulted as I follows;- ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Be"* Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens, Wages; nays none; absent and not voting none. AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BAORD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILL?,9RKANSA9 TO ADVFRTI7.E FOR BIDS AND TO A17ARD A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE'' OF NEW CASINGS FOR THE FIRE TRUCK." L BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLF,ARKANSAS: That the Board of Public Affairs of the City of Fayetteville,Arkans.,s be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to advertize for bids and to award a contract to purchase four new casings with tubes and the installation of the same on the Fire Truck; Dimensions of the tires are described as follows; Two front casings thirty-eight (38), by Seven (7),and two read casings forty by Eight (40 by 8),same to be installed on Fire Truck type seventy-five.
