BILLS against the City,properly approved,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was
!directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Pearson, seconded by Alderman

Fuller,passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor;-

!The report of the Street Cleaner showing 162 blocks cleaned during the week was presented
on motion was ordered received and filed.
The
City Attorney
reported concerning the
proposed
ordinance
for the protection of
the University
grounds,that
ordinances now in force
covered
the matters
embraced in said
proposed ordinance insofar as the ,jurisdiction of the City applied,and that and that in his
opinion,it would be unwise to alter present arrangements.
Bids for the public City Printing for the year 1931 were presented as follows; -
The Fayetteville Daily Democrat, 4� per line. The Fayetteville Daily Leader, 5; per line,
both in 12 pica emm columns,and using 8 -point type. Alderman Wages moved that the contract 1
!be and is hereby awarded to the Fayetteville,Daily Democrat for printing the ordinances and
t
public notices of the City for the ,year 1931. Alderman Bynum seconded the motion which rete
the unanimous vote of the Council and was declared passed by the Mayor.

Alderman Scott; reported progress in the matter of the Garbage disposal franchise,
land requested more time, which was granted.
The Mayor requested the Finance Committee to prepare a budget for the year 1931,
and renort the same as soon as convenient.
After some discussion of the matter of controlling i;he drainage at the intersect!
of Lindel .'Avenue and Eagle street, Alderman Bynum moved that the Street Department be author -'I
ized to place the necessary tiling,and do the needed work, to correct the conditions existinI
at said intersection. This motion was seconded by Alderman Fuller,passed by the unanimous vote
of the Council and so declared by the IJfayor.
No further business appearing, the Council adjourned on motion,
to December 31,1930 at 7;30 P.Ie
