F . SONN7MAN : istrict coming on to be heard, Mr Sonneman.presented his contention for reduction. Col.C.F. rmistead of the Board of Assessment of said District explained the method pursued by the_ oard in assessing the property, and Dr. N.F.Drake,of the Board of Commissioners stated the olicy of the Board in the matter of settlement for paving which had been placed by private wners before the formation of the District. Lir Sonneman agreed to the settlement proposed b r. Drake; whereupon Alderman Bynum moved that,in as much as settlement of the appeal had be and the appeal thereby virtually withdrawn, said appeal be formally denied. Alderman earson seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, earson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens Wages; nays Alderman Harding, and was declared passed by W \q RESDLUTION. BF IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTFVILL?,ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: That the sum of $VRfta:,:f $2,140.17 be,and the same is hereby appro- priated,to be paid in three annual payments of x'713.39 each, during the yesrs \ 1931ff,1932 and 1933,from the Street Fund of said City,and that the City Clerk be, andlhei is hereby authorized and directed to issue a warrant in said sum of $•713.39JpayAblle rto the collector of School Avenue Improvement District Number One I of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas to be ap;llied to the payment of the annual 1 assessments against the following real property,to-wit;that property mentioned in the report made to the City Council under date of 11/24/1930 by the City Engineer, F.LI.Ratliff,which said report is hereby made a part of this resolution. SECTION THRTE: That should the Improvement District mentioned in Section Two hereof fail to be formed and perfected as specified,then,in that event this resolution shall be void and of no effect. SECTIOPT FOUR: That this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and. after the formation of the Improvement District mentioned in Section Two hereof,and the sale of the bonds issued thereby.and all resolutions in con- flict herewith be,and the same are hereby repealed. Alderman 17ages moved that the City Attorney he directed. to prepare the petition for the formation of an Improvement District for the purpose of re-grading,ns�it$ rolling and paving of South School Avenue from the intersection of Prairie Street to the intersection of 17est Mountain Street. This motion was duly seconded by Alderman Harding ,passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by he i•Iayor. On motion by Alderman Pearson,seconded by Alderman Harding and duly passed,the Clerk I was directed to request the Commissioners of South School Avenue Improvement District Number one to assist in securing the formation of the above mentioned District. Also the Mayor •jasl authorized -to appoint a committee of the Council to aid in said work. The Mayor appointed as such committee Aldermen Wages, Pearson and Stanford. Alderman Harding moved that the sum of 625.00 be and is hereby apnropriated out of', the General Fund to pay the Prizes offered in the Garden Contest recently conducted by the City Beautiful Organization. This motion •ias seconded by Alderman Pearson and received the unanimous vote of the Council and was declared passed by 'he Mayor.
