THE MINUTES of the meeting of June 8th, 1930 were read and approved.
THE FOLLOIVING BILLS against the City,properly approved,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was
directed to issue warrants for the same,on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman

The Clerk reported the discovery of a document bearing date of June 19,1905,grantingj
to Fayetteville,the rights and privileges of a City of the First Class,which had not been
recorded in the minutes of the City Council,whereupon frldonnan* it was ordered that said
!document be entered of record, and filed. A copy is as,follows;-

The Board of Municipal Corporations met et the office of the Secretary of Sdhbe,
present,Attorney General Robert L. Rogers,Secretary of State O.C.Ludwig,and State Auditor
A.' ,Moore.
The application of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Washington County,
Arkansas,praying that said Incorporated City be raised from a city of the second class to
a city of the firat cess, under.the laws in such cases made and provided,and the said
application being duly attested by the Mayor and Council of said city and the same being '
ac ompanied by satisfactory evidence that the city at the time of the presentation of this
application had more than Five Thoudand bona fide residents to -wit five thousand three hundr

and twenty-six and it appearing to the Board that said city council had in all things complied

with the requirements of the law, it is therefore ord ered by the Board that the said City of
lithe Second C1ass,Fayetteville,Viashington County,Arkansas, be,and the same is hereby declared)
jto be a City of the First(Calss),and as such is entitled from this date to exercise all the
rights and privileges given and granted to Cities of the First Class under the laws of this
State. And the Secretary of State is hereby directed to furnish the City Council of said City
la certified copy of this Order.

of Watson Street was presented,whereupon Alderman Scott moved that the City Clerk be,and he is

directed to issue the necessary orfers directing the owners of lots 1,16,17,18 in Watson
(Place and of the East half of Lot 7, Block 8, County Court Addition to the City of Fayettevil.l
to build concrete sidewalks along their said holdings where the same *bsl**" abut upon Piatson
Street. Alder;ian Fuller seconded the motion which received the following vote;ayes Aldermen
I' (Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford,Stephens; nays none; absent and not voting
Alderman Wages,and was declared passed by the Mayor.

Correction Alderman 43earSon presented a resolution directing the Clerk to correct the minutes of

admption. Alderman Scott seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Alderman
Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens; nays none; absent and not votingii
Aldarman Wages. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted. A copy is atlPst+

WHEREAS,
on the day of the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,by resolut
duly adopted,did authorize the Mayor of said City to sign a petition for .the creation of an
Improvement District for the purpose of constructing a water line leading from the mains of
said City to the Aviation Field and the Country Club;and
WHEREAS,
said resolution was not entered of record and has been lost or mislaid,and
WHEREAS,
by authority of said resolution,the Mayor od said City, T.S.Tribble, •has signed said petition
NOW THEREFORE 0BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH7 CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS:

That the signing of said petition by T.S.Tribble,as Mayor of said City,be, and the same
is hereby,approved,and adopted as authorized by said City Council as fully as if said above
mentioned resolution had been placed of record as.it should have been, in the minutes of sai

That the City Clerk of said City be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to complet
and correct the said minutes by writing in the margin of the record of said minutes,a refe
hereto.
That this resolution is in lieu of said lost resolution,and shall take effect and be
force from and after its passage and approval,and that all resolutions in conflict herewith
be,and the same are hereby,repealed.

report showing 178 blocks cleaned during the week,was presented and ordered filed.
After an exhaustive discussion of the matter of housing the various departments of
the City government, motion was made by Alderman Pearson moved that a room for the use of
the Police Court be rented,in the Wade Building at $5.00 per month,and that the rooms in
Court House be retained for use of the Water Plant,the City C1erk,City Collector,gn33 the
Council Chamber,the Water Plant to pay $20.00 per month on the rent. A1dPrman Stanford
seconded the moyion,which received the following vote;ayes Aldermen Bynum, Harding, Pearson,
Scott, Stanford, Stephens; nays none; absent and not voting Aldrmen Fuller and Wages. The
Mayor declared the motion passed.
