RESENT: The Mayor T.S.Tribble, Clerk J.C.Massie, Attorney V.James Ptak, Engineer E.M.Ratliff; (Aldermen John Bynum, Don Fuller, C.T. Harding, ,Clegi Pearson, Roy Scott, J.F.Stanford, , S.S.Stephens, R.E..Wages. THE MINUTES o,f the meeting of May 26th, 1930 were read and approved. ITHE FOLLOWING�BILLS against the City,properly approved,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk wa I dmrected to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman R Pearson, passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor; - Go ' andford & Co., $73.75; First National Bank '50.00;Bert l' latson(Election Ex penses) 153140; VI H.Rollins $1.00;J.17.Shelly $$4.06 and 642.50;City Transfer Co., $12.75; Abshier- ryan Motor Co., $50.00;L.S. REPORTS: the monthly reports of the Purchasing Agent, City Collector, City Clerk, Police Judge and ire Chief,and the weekly report of the Street Cleaner were presented and on motion were received and filed. T.P.GANN The Mayor reported that he had appointed T.P.Gann to the office of Sanitary Poilce- ,San Poli ce. man, effective May 1st, 1930. Sidewalk, Permission was granted for the construction of a concrete sidewalk at Lot 8f4,Blk 14 S.School Str. Ferguson Addition,under supervision of the City Engineer. Clekk to� I Alderman Scott moved that the Clerk be and is authorized to place an order for a order Record Book; new Record Book. Alderman Pearson seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council,and was declared passed by the Mayor. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion i to adopt,which received the following vote;ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller,Harding, Pearson, Scot, Stanford, Stephens Wages; nays none; absent and not voting none. i The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted. A copy is as follows;- RESOLUTION. 1111THEREAS: On the 11th day of January,1926,the City Engineer of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas was employed by the City Council of the City.of Fayetteville,Arkansas,to prepare an Atlas Map of said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas;and IWHEREAS,on thel 31st day of January,1928,the said City Engineer laid before the said City Council a copy of said Atlas Map of the said City Of Fayetteville,Arkansas,snd suggested that the wall Map be frlmed and placed under glass for its better preservation,and WHEREASIby thy unanimous vote of the said City Council,it was ordered that the said City Engineer be authorized to have a copy of said Wall Map so framed,and WHFREAS,a copy of said Atlas Map of the said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,has,since said date,been Ion fiie with the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,and 507 WHEREAS, a copy of said Atlas Map of said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas;has this day been designated as "Atlas Map of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,to be used in the formation of Municipal ' I Improvement Districts",and filed by E.M.Ratliff,City Engineer,and this day marked filed by t; the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,and I WHERFAS, Paving Improvement District Number Forty-three (43) of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,hasl recently been forned,and said above At169 M9q mentioned Atlas Map was made use of in the formation of said Improvement District.and WHERFIS,IIt is necessary that an official map be used in the formation of Municipal Improvement Districts,and l'1H7REAS,',it has been found by the City Council thAt said above mentioned Atlas Map is very beneficial 'in the formation of Municipal Improvement Districts; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THT CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: THAT the above mentioned AtlasMap of the City of Payetteville,Arkansas,which has this day be. duly designated as "Atlas Map of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,to be used in the forma- i tion of Municipal Improvement Districts",be,and the same is hereby,adopted,and the same be, and is hereby,declared to be the official map or plat of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, iin the formation of Paving Improvement District Number Forty-three (43) of the City of iFayetteville,Arkansas„ and in the formation of all Municipal Improvement Districts hereafter) created within the said City of Fayetteville,Arkansas. Idecjaring Alderman Harding introduced a resolution declaring the finding of the City Council !Majority; of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas in the matter of the signers of the Petition for the formation of Paving Improvement District Number Forty-three (a3) of the City of Fay PlHF.REAI , !etteville,Arkansas,on the question of Majority, and moved its adoption. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion to adopt,which received the following vote; ayes Ald rmen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens, Wages; nays none; absent and not voting none. ;The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted. A copy is as follows; RESOLUTION. On October 28th,1929,the City Council of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,at its regular eting held on said date,had a hearing for the purpose of determining whether or not a petitid for the formation of an Improvement District for the purpose of grading,rolling and paving IIiatson Street from St Charles Avenue to North West Avenue,contained the signatures of a majority in value of owners of propertywithin said proposed Improvement District;and Arkansas, said Council had before it the Certificate of the Circuit Clerk of Washington Counti/as to the owners of real property within said proposed Improvement District,and a certificate of the County Clerk of Washington County,Aekansas,as to the assessed valuation of said real ;property.and II- FJHFRFAS, said Council found the total valuation of said proposed Improvement Districtto be $$23,825.Oo, and found that those signing said petition owned property of the assessed valuation of $17,400.00,and INHFREAS,I by some inadvertance,said finding was not spread of record; NOW,THERFFOHE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, I7RKANSAS: I SECTION ONE: That said City Council did, on Obbober 28th,1929,actually find that total assessed valua- tionof real property within said proposed Improvement District was $23,825.00,and that those) who signed the petitionfor the creation of said Improvement District,owned property of the assessed valuation of $17,400.000 508 SECTION That the City Clerk of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas be, and he is hereby,requested t spread this resolution of record,in order that the minutes of the City Council of the City fo Fayetteville,Arkansas,may now show what they should have shown.as of the date October 28,1929. Sewer,& I Permission was granted to Oliver Lollar to make Sewer connection on Leverett Ave,and 'Plater con- nection;IWater connection on Maple street,subject to approval and supervision by the City Engineer. Street The Street Cleaner reported 180 blocks cleaned during the week. Cleaner; His report was ordered filed,on motion duly passed. WILSON The citizens interested in the matter reported that they had built the bridge across AVE. Skull Branch,and requested payment of the d$75.00 promised by the City on that improvement. The Engineer was directed t#ainvestigate conditions ,and report. REECE,H.G. Mr H,G,Reece requested additional time for constructing sidewalk along the front of S I DEL"JALK his property on Storer Ave,and on motion by Aldergian Pearson seconded by Ald rman Harding and duly passed,he was given till September 1st to build said walk. BOWLING Mr Holt presented to the Council,the matter of installing a modern,miniature Bowling ALLEY: alley,and it being found ,upon investigating by the City Nttorney,that there is in force an ordinance providing for licensing bowling alleys,he was informed that he had only to procure the license,and comply with the requirements of the ordinance. COMPILATION Alderman Scott moved that J.C.Massie be,and is hereby,emploved to make a compilation OF THE CITY ORDINANCI.S: or digest of all general city ordinances of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,now in force,prepare a complete Index to same,have them with the index correctly typewritten in a suitable book,said index to show also where to find special and Improvement District Ordinances. That the City shall pay for the book or books required and pay the stenographer,and pay Mr. Massie at the'rate of One Dollar per hour,the time to be limited to 300 hours. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion which received the following vote;ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens, Wages; nays none and was declared passed by the Mayor.
