J.C.Massie, City Clerk. Application of Mr Hodges for permission to cut the pavement for. the pur0se of maki connection on Meadow Street was referred to the City Engineer with power to act. Mr Henry Barton presented to the Council a statement as to the impassable condition street and requested that some action be taken by the Council;whereupon Alderman tcott moved that the Mayor,City Engineer and the Street Committee uinvestigate the matter and report. 'I'Hr FOLLOPIIMG BILLS against to City,properly approved,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Harding,seconded by Alderman Wa#es,passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor; American LaFrance & Foamite Industries Inc. $29.92; John Clark $2.50;John Griggs $$10.00; Ben porter $18.75;Abshier-Bryan Motor Co, 850,00; J.111.3helly $42.50;G.F.Puterbaugh d$4.79; Dr.C.iL.Bleecker x$17.00; Fayetteville Daily Leader $13,00, REPORTS: Street Cleaner reported 180 blocks cleaned during the week. On motion this report was orde filed. City Engineer reported as to work on Stone Street,that it is the opinion of the ayor's roclama- ion; seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council. The report is as follows;- Fayetteville,Arkansas, May 23rd,1930. TO THE HONOT±ABLE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: Wear the undersigned,duly appointed,qualified and acting County Board of Election Commissioners of Washington County,Arkansas,do hereby certify that at the Spec election heldin the City of Fayetteville,Washington County,Arkansas,on Tuesday,May.30th, 1930;the following vote was; "For Bond issue to purchase,develop and improve land for flying field',271 votes, "Against Bond issue to purchase,develop and improve land for flyin ifeld,'107 votes.. Respectfully submitted, County Board of Election Commissioners By Bert Watson, Secretary, The Mayor reported that upon receipt of the above report of the County Board of Election Commissioners,he had issued the follow ing Proclamation,in compliance with the law in such case provided;. 1, committee in charge that a drain pipe should be installed,and the surface of the street by Harding J� i? gravelled. On motion Alderman Fuller,seconded by Aldemman and duly passed the Street Department was authorized to make the improvements designated by the report. TATE OF ARKANSAS , OUNTY OF WASHINGTON, ITY OF FAYETTEVILLE. 505 I.T.S.Tribble,Mayor of the City of Fayetteville in :'lash&ngton County, Arkansas, hereby proclaim the result of the election had and held, at the voting precincts in Ithe several wards of said City on the 20th day of May,1930,as by the Ordinance of the City Council provided, which said election was held for the purpose of ascertaining the will of the ualified voters of said City upon the proposal to issue municipal bonds in the sum of 20,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing,develpping and improving lands for a flying field. I hereby declare that the proposition "FOR BOND ISSUE TO PURCHASE,DEVFLOP AND IMPROVE !LANDS FOR A FLYING FIELD" received 271 votes, and the proposition" AGAINST BOND ISSUE. TO PURCHASE,DEVELOP AND IMPROVE LANDS FOR A FLYING FIELD" reeeived 107 votes,at said election. THEREFORE,I,T.S.Tribble,Mayor of said City,hereby declare and proclaim that the result of said election was in favor of said bond issue for said purpose. G.LFHN The Resignation of D.G.Lehn as a member of the Board of Improvement of Paving Im- RrSIGNS: rovement District Number Forty-three (43) was presented,whereupon Alderman Harding moved that aid resignation be accepted. Aldo.rman Fuller seconded the motion which received the follow - i ng vote; ayes A1dePmen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stenhens Wages; I (nays none; absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mavor. F.P.�'11TSON Alderman Scott introduced a resolution appointing E.P.Watson as a member of the Board Com'r #of Improvement of Paving Improvement District Number Forty-three (43),and moved its adoption: Alderman Harding seconded the motion to adopt,which received the following vote; ayes Alder-� -men Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens, Wages; nays none; absent and! i Inot voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted. JARRANT TO It being ascertained that certain charges against an abandoned car which the Police THIEF OF PI.;Department had seized had to be paid,Alderman Pearson moved that the City Clerk be and is authorized and directed to issue a warrant in the sum of $6.00 payable to Police Chief S,H, ,Guinn for such purpose. This motion was duly seconded by Alderman Wages,and received the unanimous vote of the Council,and was declared passed by the Mayor.
