THE MINUTS of the meeting of February 10th,1930 were read and approved.
THE FOLLOIING BILLS against the City,properly approved,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was
directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Harding seconded by -Alderman
rake,passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor;

ORD. TOAlderman Harding introduced an ordinance to amend Section 8 of Ordinance Number 718 which
AMEND SEC.8 Pas read the first time. Alderman Harding then moved that the Rules be suspended and the
Ord 718; ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Fuller,and re -
ceived the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Dr.J.
F. Stanford, Stephens; nays none, absent and not voting none,and was declared passed by the
Mayor. The Ordinance was read the Second time.
After thoAough discussion,Alde:rman Drake moved
that the Rules be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final
passage. Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Alder-
men Bynum, Drake Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens; nays none; absents and zi
not voting none,and was declaeed passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read the third time.)
The Mayor then announced the question before the Council is shall the ordinance pass
and called for the vote on its passage,which resulted as follows; ayes Aldemen Bynum, Drake,
Fuller, Harding, Peerson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens. The Mayor declared the ordinance passed

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYFTTEVILLE,ARKANSAS:-

SECTION ONE:
That Section Eight (8) of Ordinance number 718,passed and approved on the 3rd day of.Feb-
Iruary,1930 be,and the same is hereby amended so as tH read as follows,to wit;-
"SEDTION EIGHT: All electrical wiring hereafter installed within the limits of the Fire
Districts of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,as the same now exist,and/or as they may be

% extended or created hereafter, shall be in rigid conduits. PROVIDED: that connections with, � and alterations or extensions of existing wiring systems within said Fire Districts,the extent
J of which does not overload the circuits,amy be made or done with ARMORED CABLE,with proper
(fittings. If a new entrance is required the work shall be done in rigid conduit,
Y� For m1nor repair work of less than six outlets,not requiring a new entrance,no inspection
jfee shall be. charged at any, place tilthin the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, but a permit,as
required in Ordinance Number 718 must ne obtained."
SECTION TWO:
This ordinance shall Ze effect and be in force from and after its passage,approval and
publication.

presented,and on motion,ordered filed.
SANITATI

The matter of public sanitation was discussed at Tength,and Alderman Pearson moved that
the Mayor and the Syreet Committee be authorized and requested to inspect several locations
for a publie dump ground,and report th6ir findings to the Council. This motion was seconded
by Alderman Scott and duly passed.
THE ORDINANCE Committee was also requested to prepare an ordinance on the disposal of refuse of all
kinds,for report at the next meeting of the Council.
ARNOLD: A petition requesting authorization for the setting up of a Popcorn stand by Will Arnold
and signed by about 100 persons was presented to the Council and received careful consideration
In as much as the matter,of locating street vendors of all kinds had been formerly delegated
o the.jMayor and Che Chief of P&lice and made also dependent on the wishes of persons owning

occupying adjacent property,the Council took no,action in the matter.
BUILDING:, Two requests in reference to buildings were referred to the building Inspector.

DUMP The Mayor reported that the committee charged with the duty of inspecting and reporting on

the location of a cLimp Fx�� for city refuse,had decided to use a part of the land owned by
the city at the l ,and were making preparations for its use by working the road
leading from the highway. On motion by Alderman Drake,seconded by Alderman Scott and duly
passed,the report was approved,and Dave Lewis was employed to repair the road.
Cut Curb; Permission was granted to H.C.Palmer to out the cirb at #517 East Maple for the purpose of
constructing a drive-in,the work to be done under the sulervision of the City Engineer.
DinwiddiAs The Bond of James Dinwiddie,as Gas Plumbing Inspector,in the sum of $1,000.00,was

,presented,and on motion by Alderman Drake,seconded by Alderman Bynum,and duly pas-sed,said bond
was approved and ordered filed.
FIRE HOUSE The bids of E.V.Bird, $370.00,and R.F.Wages,$306.00 were presented,for supplying and
REPAIRS:
installing 3 I -beams in the Fire House,under the supervision of Engineer E.M.Ratliff.
Alderman Pearson moved that the bid of R.E.Wages be accepted. Alderman Drake seconded the moti

ILA AVE. A petition praying that Ila Avenue be graded was presented,whereupon alderman Harding moved
GRADING:
that the Engineer be directed to make an estimate of the cost of the same,and submit it to
the Council. The motion was seconded by Ilderman Drake and received the unanimous vote of the
Council.
