tHE MINUTES of the meetings of January 13th and 14th, 1930 were raed and approved.

directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alde=rman Harding seconded by Alderman
Fuller,passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor;
Democrat Publishing Co., $3.63J."I,Shelly $42.50;Ben Porter $18.75.
The bond for $101000.00,liquidated damages filed with the City Clerk on the
18th day of January,1930 by the gas company was submitted to the Council for consideration,
xhereupon Alderman Harding moved that the bond be declared acceptable.This motion was secon
b -T Alderman Pearson,and received the unanimous vote of the Council,and was declared passed
by the Mayor.
Alderman Pearson moved that the ordinance po6V1-d**g authorizing the Board of
Public Affairs to purchase an automobile chassis for the use of the Fire Department,now on
its second reading,be placed on its third reading and final passage. This motion was se
Alderman Stanford and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller,

rson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens; nays none, absent and not voting none, and was declared passed
the Mayor. The ordinance was read the third time. The Mayor then announced the gy,[estion

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYFTTFVILLE,ARKANSAS:
'SECTION ONE:
That the Board op Public Afflirs of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas, are hereby authorize
and directed to advertize for sealed bids and to award a contract to the lowest and best b
for the purchase of one (1) automobile chassis,for the use of the Fayetteville Fire Depart.
ment at a total cost of not to exceed the sum of $700.00.
,SECTION TWO;
That this ordinance be in force fromp and after its passage approval.and publication,

REFRIUERAiION. of mechanical refrigeration plants, and the installation of wiring for various purposes
ELECTRICIANS: in buildings,and also for a plan of licensing operators and workmen engaged in such
installations bo were presented. After full discussion of these matters, on motion duly passed
'the parties interested were requested to prepare such ordinances, in co-laboration with the
'Inspector of Buildings,and the Ordinance Committee of the City Council,and submit the same
to the Council for its consideration.

AT FIRE
HOUSE:
The Mayor made an oral report of h1r** the meeting of the Mayors and County
Judges in Little Rock in protest against the enforcement of the collection of taxes on
publicly owned brucks and tractors. According to said report the matter seems to be very

;much "up in the air".
Mr J.H.McIlroy presented a request
for permission to repair
a building
on Dickson
Street
recently damaged by fire. After some
discussion the matter was
referred to
the Fire
Committee
for investigation and report
The Engineer, E.M.Ratliff suggested that the Fire House would be much improved and made
safer and more accessable by removal of the posts supporting the upper floor, and substitut
beams therefor. Whereupon Alderman Pearson moved that the Engineer prepare estimates of the
cost of said repairs for submission to the Council. This motion was secomded by Alderman Hardie
Mand received the unanimous vote of the Council.
The Council then ad,jpurned,on motion duly passed.
