HomeMy WebLinkAbout1930-01-07 Minutes465 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS,-HELD DECEMBER 30, 1929. i PRESENT: The Mayor T:S.Tribble, Clerk J.C.Massie;'Attorney Don Trumbo; Aldermen John Bymum, Don Fuller, C.T.Harding, Clem Pearson, Roy Scott, Dr.J.F.Stanfdrd, S.S.Stephens; Absent Engineer E.M.Ratliff and Alderman N.F.Drake. THE MINUTES of the meeting of December 23rd, 1929 were read and approved. THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City,bearing the proper vouchers and the approval of the Auditing Committee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Harding,seconded by Alderman Scott passed by the unanimous vote of the members present and so declared by the Mayor; Ben Porter $18.75; J.W.Shelly $42.50. SHELLY'S report showing 124 blocks cleaned during the week and a total of 889 loads hauled since ALLEY: May,1929,waa presented and on motion,ordered filed. i Action on the opening of the alley between Jennings and Ferguson Additions was deferred till the next meeting. FLYING j On motion duly passed the Clerk was directed to bill the Ozark Flying School for the sum of SCHOOL BILL: i$250.00 due under contract. I REPORTS: 'The Mayor's Annual Report,Purchasing Agent's Report for December,Clerk for December, City ;Collector for December .Police Judge for December, Fire Chief for Dedember and annual, the weekly report of the Street Cleaner and the report of the City Hospital on Charity patients fo ,1929 were presented and on motion duly passed were ordered filed. ALLEY bet, It being ascertained that an alley between Jennings Addition and Ferguson's Addition JENNINGS & FERGUSON is obstructed by'a barn and by fencing,the City Attorney was directed to take the necessary ADDITIONS: steps to open said alley to the public.This action was had on motion by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Pearson passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor. GREGG STR Upon the report of the Mayor to the effect that acceptable repairs on the WALK: ,flagstone walk along Gregg Street had not been made,Alderman Pearson moved that the City At- torney take the necessary steps to enforce such repairs or the construction of a concrete within 30 days, walV Alderman Drake seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council, ,and was declared passed by the Mayor. SANITATION: On motion by Alderman Pearson,duly seconded and passed the Clerk was directed torequest i from Fort Smith a copy of the sanitation regulations of that City.
