REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS,HELD DECEMBER
23rd, 1929.

THE MINUTES of the me.=ting of December 26,1929 were read and approved.
THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City,bearing the proper vouchers and the approval of the Auditing Coip-
'mittee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same
in motion by Alderman Harding,seconded by Aldernan Pearson,passed.by the unanimous vote of the
Council and so ded aped by the Mayor;-
B.Dillard OO; J.W.Shelly, $42x150; Ben Porter $18.75;
Goss -Rogers Electric Co., 14.65; Ed Wiggans $20.00.
MAPLE STR. It appearing that certain persons who had been ordered to construct sidewalks on Maple Streit
ALKS:
had failed to comply with the -order issued by the Council of the 25th day of March,1929,Alder-
man Pearson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption. This motion was seconded
Iby Alderman Scott and received the fol owing vote;Ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding,
Pearson, Scott, Stamford, Stephens; nays none, and was declared passed by the Mayor, and the
eisolution adopted. A copy is as follows;
RESOLUTION,
F EAS r -
At a meeting of the City Council -of the City of.Fayetteville,Arkansas,held on the 25th
day of March,1929,said Council made an order directing the owners of real property abutting on
Maple Street between Lincoln Avenue Arid i' Iilson'Avenue,on the North side of said Maple Street;
to construct sidewalks along their respective holdings,and directed the City Clerk of said City
,to so notify said owners;and

Such notice was given under the hand of said City Clerk, bearing date of May 4th,1929,
land
WHEREAS;,
Said notices were duly served on said owners by Neal Cruse,a policeman of said City,
,and
(WHEREAS:
'Said sidewalks have not been constructed according to the tenor of said notices at
Lots5,6,7,8, Block 4, and Lots 6,7 Block 5 Englewood -Addition to the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas; and at lots7,8,9,10,11 12, Block 1 Wilson's First Addition to the City of Fayettevile,
Arkansas;
j INOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE,ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE: - - -
That the City Clerk be,and'he is -hereby ordered and diredted to,notify the owners
of said lots that it is the intention of said•City'Council to contract with some suitable
person for the construction -of said sidewalks,under the provisions of the Acts of Arkansas
as set forth in Sections7546 and 7748,Cr4wf6rd &-Mosee Digest of the Statutes of.Arkansas,if sad
sidewalks are not constructed by said owners within 60 days.from the date of the passage of
this resolution.
SECTION TWO:
That all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith-be,and the same
are hereby,repealed,and this resolution shall take effect and be in force fromX and after its
passage and approval.

PAY -ROLL:'
On motion by Ald rman Fuller,seconded by Alderman Pearson, passed by the unanimous vote of the
Council,and so declared by the Mayor, the Clerk was directed to issue the warrants for the
December pay -roll on the 24th day of December, 1929.
AIRPORT: The committee on the Airport,reported that their investigation showed that the necessary
grading and drainage will cost approximately $1,000. On motion by AldermanPearson,seconded by
Alderman Bynum,the committee was authorized to receive bids for the work,and accept the bid
which they judged to be best. This motion was duly passed by the unanimous vote of the Council.
THE I I
The Fire Committee was directed to secure estimates of cost of repairs on the Studebaker
truck of the Fire Department. This action was had on motion by Alderman Harding, duly second
and passed.

Action on the opening of the.alley between Jennings and Ferguson Additions was deferred ti]
the next meeting.
On motion duly passed the Clerk was directed to bill the Ozark Flying School for the sum of
$250.00 due under contract.
