Alderman Bynum seconded the motion.which received the unanimous vote of the Council. MOOREI I Mr C.O. Moore was present,. and requested the Council to grant permission th his company to GAS, substitute 8 -inch pipe for l0 -inch in a portion of the supply line from the gas field to the City. After some discussion,Alderman Pearson moved that action in the matter be deferred till the next meeting of the Council. THE FOLL04ING BILLS against the City,bearing the proper vouchers and the approval of the Auditing Com- �mittee,were allowed and ordered.paid on motion by Alderman Harding,seconded by Alderman Bynum, (passed by the unanimous vote of the Counall.and so declared by the Mayor;- H.B.YJalker, $13.00 (Dave Lewis $5.00;Democrat Publishing Co., $30084; J.W.Shelly, $42.50•Ben Porter $18.75; F..Evan $1.50;Kelly Brothers Lumber Co., $3.00 and $1.25;City Transfer Co., ,1.00. REPORTS: The weekly report of the street Cleaner showing 127 blocks cleaned during the week was pre- sented and on motion was -received and filed. I The final report of the Board of Improvement of East Center Street was presented and read) to the Council,whereupon Alderman Harding moved that the report be received,approved and filed and the Board of Improvement of said East Center Street Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,be and the same are hereby fully discharged. This motion was seconded by Alderman Pearson and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake! Harding, Pearson, Stanford, Stephens; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Fuller and Scott. The Mayor declared the motion passed,the report approved and the Commissioners fully discharged. PUBLIC The bids of the Fayetteville Daily Democrat and the Fayetteville Daily Leader, PRINTING: Ifor the publication of ordinances and other notices for the period ending December 31,1930 - I were opened in the presence of the Council,and found to be as follows; The Leader, 6� per line of 6 -point type,and 5¢ per line of 8 -point type; The Democrat, 6� per line of8-point 1. type and 5� per line.of 6 -point type. Alderman Pearson moved that the bid of the reader be accepted for publication of ordinances and other notices in 8 -point t ` ype. Alderman Drake ' seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Harding, lPearsonqi stanford,Stephens; nays nose; absent and not voting Aldermen Fuller and Scott. The Mayor �dec�lared the motion passed and the bid so accepted. DRAINAGE, I 2'ies C'tyi'Engneisn� rbpb:r_t~ed' contaersii#igss�ti drainage problem on Dickson Street, DICKSON,AND R OCK: adv&sing that said drainage could be best controlled by widening Dickson Street to with a form of construction that would make said street carry its surplus water westward,and thus I protect East street;whereupon Alderman Drake moved that Alderman Harding be requested to interview the property owners adjacent to that part of the street affected to learn what I ' 456 their wishes are in the matter,and to what extent they were willing to assist in the project. This motion was duly seconded and passed. STR. After discussion of the situation.at the intersection of South.Collggg and Rock streets, Alderman Harding moved that the Mayor be authorized to expend.as much as $50.00 in such cone struction as was judged to be advisable for the better controlling of flood waters at that point and along East Rock.street. Alderman Drake seconded this motion which, received the following vote;ayes Alderman Bynum, Drake, Harding, Pearson, Stanford, Stephens; nays none; absent and not voting Ald ermen Fuller.and Scott, and was declared passed by the Mayor. It being ascertained that the certificate -of the Circuit Clerk of Washing- ton County,Arkansas as the the ownueship of said real property,and the certificate of the County Clerk of said County as to the assessed valuation of said real.property were not on file,Alderman Harding moved that said hearing be continued to the.next regular meeting of the Council to be held on the 25th day of November91929. Alderman Drake seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Harding,.Pearson, Stanford, Stepheni; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Fuller, and Scott..The Mayor declared the motion passed, for permission-to'.substitute 8=in.f6r 10 -in pipe, The request of C.O.Moore coming up for further discussion,resulted in a motion GAS• by.Alderman Bynum to defer action for further investigation,and for a report from the City engineerconcerning the matter. This motion was duly seconded by Alderman Harding and passed without opposition, and so declared by the Mayor. .. PUMPS: Permission was granted to Jack Hight to install a curb gasoline pump at Lots 18 and 19, Blovk 28 on East Mountain Street,and_also.to 0. Rouse at the Gattis Tire Shop on East Meadow Street, subject to the supervision of.the City Engineer and the provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paye'teville,.thereto pertaining.
