ittee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the sam

The weekly report of the Street Cleaner and the monthly reports of the City Purchasing Agent
City Collector, Police Judge,and the annual report of Improvement District Number 35 were

Your Board of Commissioners of Paving Improvement District Numberl
Forty-two of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,have employed Eohl. Ratliff to raak�:pian�: prepare plans plans and make estimates of cost of pavement to be constructed within Paving Improve-!
Ment District Number Forty-two of the City of Fayetteville,Arkansas,and upon the streets as set
out in the petition.
Based upon the report made by our engineer.we have decided to build pave
Ment 30 feet in width,including necessary grading,curbing and under drainage,upon School Ivenue,
all of the intersecting streets within the limits of School Avenue to be paved twenty feet in
width,including the necessary grading and underdrainage,
The type of paving to be concrete. The detailed specifications to be in agreement with the
current standard practice for this class of construction and the requirements of State High.
way Department for pavement on a State Highway.
The estimated cost of this work as submitted by E.M. Ratliff is $10,000.00,and we respect-
fully request that ,your Honorable Body appoint a Board of Assessment who shall assess the
benefits against the property within Paving Improvement District Number Forty-two of the City
of Fayetteville,Arkansas.

This motion was seconded by Alderman Scott and received the following vote; ayes
Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Drake, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens; nays none, absent lad
not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted.

It arpears from said report that said engineer has made plans and submitted an estimate
of the cost of such improvement to the said Board of Improvement and that said Board of Improve-
ment has approved the plans and estimate of cost,and

It appears from such report that the estimate of the cost of said improvement is the sun
of $10,000.00,and does not exceed 1000 of the assessed valuation of t;he real estate within said
Improvement District;-

THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED:
That -the -above mentioned report is approved,and
That G.C. Smith, U.L.Smelser and F.P.Hall,three electors of the City of Fayetteville,be,and
they are hereby app oimted as a.3oard of Assessment of the benefits to be received by each
lot or block or other sub -division of land in said District by reason of.the proposed improv
ment,and they are hereby directed to proceed to assess and charge against each lot or block
other sub -division within said Improvement District the benefits which will be received by
reason of the r o d improvement to -be made in said Improvement District.
That the saidAof Improvement be and they are hereby authorized to proceed with the makin;
of the improvemerit'in accordance with the plans adopted by them,the cost not exceeding the
sum of $10,000.00.

Mr Finley Henderson presented to the Council the project of instituting a Flying School at
the local Airport. The Mayor and Council being favorably impressed with the plan, it was mo,
by Alderman Pearson that a committee consisting of.the Iliayor,City Clerk, City Attorney,City
Engineer and Alderman Drake be authorized to contract with the Ozark Flying Schools Corporal
for the establishment of a Flying School,and the use of the City Airport for that purpose.
This motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and received the unanimous vote of the Council
and was declared passed bt the Mayor.
A request for permission t�grm_.w ter and sewer connections on East Dickson Street neat
N:t;Tillow,4venue intersedt9ion,�the matter was referaed to the City Engineer,with power to
act, on motion by Alderman Pearson,seconded by Alderman Drake,duly passed and so declared by
the Mayor.
Bids for the re -roofing of the Fire House were opened,and on motion by Alderman Stanford,
ed by Aldarman Scott, the contract was awarded to G.0 & S.A. ?gages, and the City Attorney
was dorectnd to draw up said Contract.with said parties.
The matter of altering the grade of the sidewalk at. the new building of Lir Franke on South
East Street -was referred to the ty Engineer with power to act,said grade to be brought as
near to the grade of the curb as practicable.
Ad,jpurnment was had on motion by AlAnrman Scott, duly se'onded and passed and so declared by
