Massie, Attorney Don Trumbo,Engineer Ea.M. Ratliff; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Scott, Stanford, Stephens;absent Alderman Pearson. THE MINUTES of the meeting of August 5th, 1929 were read and approved. IHE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City,bearing the proper•vouchers and the approval of the Auditing Com- Imittee,were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the I same on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded -by Alderman Harding,passed by the unanimous vote, of'the Council and so declared by the Mayor; Abshier-Bryan Motor Co. 545.65;Ben Porter $18.76; Central Auto Co., $1.50; J.E. Skelton p20.00;.J.F!. Shelley ti35.00 Elmer Flier 10.50; Ralph Lehman $150.00.e. Democrat Pub, Co., $"10.32; Harry E. Hamilton 20.70; $0ELLEY'S report showing 173 blocks cleaned,was presented and on motion,ordered filed. LIGHT: IThe removal of a street light from the corner of Dickson and Duncan to the corner of Ila 1 and Vandeventer was authorized;also the relocation of a light at the north end of the pavement on North College Avenue. PIE STR. The Engineer reported the grading of Maple street as not yet completed,and that GRADING: Mr Zillah, the contractor requested a delay in the work -until such time as sufficient rain me extend- ; shall fall to make the work practicable. On motion by Alderman Drake,seconded by Alderman_ Scott and duly passed, such extension of time was granted. I J*H.McILROY: Mr J.H.McIlroy was present and rejuested the Council to investigate the matter Annex to Univ, of repairs on west Dickson;a turn -out on Buchannon and grading of Fairview,whereupon Alderman (Harding *V11te moved that the City Engineer,with the members of the Street Committee make such invest gation,estimate the cost thereof and report same to the Council together with the proposition of the property owners interested as to the payment therefor. Alderman Drake seconded the I, motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council,and was declared passed by the Mayor. REPAIRS ON The Mayor reported that the Commissioners of South School Avenue Improvement S.SCHOOL:j District Number One had requested the use of the City's repair crew and equipment for do tftto• Idoing some repair work on South School Avenue,and that they had $50.00 excess funds which could apply to the payment therefor;whereupon Alderman Drake moved that the request be grant so far as the 5$50.00 would defray the expense.Alderman Fuller seconded this motion which re i ceived the unanimous vote of the Council,and was declared passed by the Mayor.
