Massie, Attorney Don Trumbo, Engineer E.M.Ratliff; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens, THE MINUTES of the Meeting of June 24th, 1929 were read and approved. THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City,bearing the proper vouchers and the approval of the.Auditing Committee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for. the' same on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman Drake, passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor; - Southwestern Gas and Electric Co., $512.59;Dave Lewi $9.00; Bob Hannah $10.00;Pete Gann $6.00;W.L. Crouch $4.90;Salsbury & Sandford $2.50;J.111. gho& Shelley $42.50;W.H. Flowers $10.00;Ben Porter $15.50;Elmer Wier,$8.50;John Zillah $1.259*Ellis Sutton $10.00. M.COX On motion by Alderman Harding duly seconded 9*6 and passed, permission was granted to Sidewalk; Martin Cox to construct a sidewalk at his property on Watson Avenue 3 feet in width instead of 4 feet, in order to conform with the other walks along said street,and because of the narrowness of the street. TEXACO On motion by Alderman.Bynum,duly seconded and passed,the hearing of the application TANKS: j ' jof R.G. Johnson for permission to.install storage tanks on Lot 7, SE -11, 9/16/30,was set for July 8th, 1929,at a special meeting of the Council on said date, at 809P.M. thereof. PARKINGI Alderman Scott introduced an ordinance providing for a 2 -hour parking'limit on part of We MT. STR, West Mountain Street which was read the first time. Alderipan Harding moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinanew placed on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alder Fuller and received the following vote;ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearxison, Scott, Stanford, Stephens; nays none, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read the second time. Alderman Fuller then moved that the Rules be further suspended and the Ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. This motion was secmnded by Alderman Harding and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding,. AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED " AN ORDINANCE CREATING A TWO-HBUR PARKING LIMIT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MOUNTAIN STREET". I BE IT ORDAINMD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAY,TTEVILLE,ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: That hereafter it shall be unlawful to park,between 8 A.M. and 6 P.M. on Week Days, any automobile,wagon or vehicle on the South side of East Mountain Street beginning at the corner of East and Mountain Streets and extending East to the Alley on the West side of the Taylor Building for a period of time greater than two hours. SECTION TWO: Q That any person, firm, partnership or corporation violating Section hereof shall be subject to a fine of not less than $2.00 nor more than $25.00. 7� SECTION THREE: That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage,approval and publication. Pierce $10165.00 for paving a portion of Trenton Boulevard be paid as soon as the donations for that purpose amounting to j the sum of $1,000.00 is assembled. I LOY On motion by Alderman Bynum, seconded by Alderman Harding and passed.by the unanimous BISHOP, ACTING vote of the Council Loy Bishop, a duly elected and qualified Justice of the peace for Prairie POLICE Township,was chosen as Acting Police Judge during the absence of Judge Rollins. Judge; 420 DRAINAGE A communication from the fign St Louis.and.San Fransisco Railway Co., pertaining to t. ON N.WEST, project of drainage on North West'Street was.read ,and on motion was.ordered filed. GREGORY A request from J.K. Gregory for.permission to remove a residence building.from lot 4 HOUSE MOVE: Block 29 to a place on ,East Maple.Street between College.avenue and Washington Avenue was presented,and,on motion by Aldernan Drake,.seconded by Alderman Scott and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council,.subject to the supervision of the City Engineer and the ordtn thereto pertaining the request was granted. PUTERBAUGH Mr George Puterbaugh requested permission to install a curb pump at his property on CURB GAS*PUMPGovernment O ff Avenue. Alderman.Scott moved that therequestbe granted subject to super- Ivision of the City Engineer and the ordinance's in such case.provided. Alderman Fuller SEWER CONNECT MILL A AND HUNTS- VILLE seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council. The matter of remedying defective Sewer connection at 221 East Lafayette was referred utv : to the City Fngineer,with power to act. Mr Stanfill requested the city to widen the intersection of Mill Avenue and Huntsville Road,whereupon Alderman Harding moved that the matter be referred to the'City Engineer for AD: investigation and report. This motion was duly seconded and passed. On trotion the Council then adjpurned to Friday, July 5th, 1929. i/c Mayor. RD** Pursuant to adjournmemt, the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in the Council Chamber ,July 5th, 1929 at -8;00 o'dlock thereof,when there were The Mayor, T.S..Tribble, Clerk, Massie, Attorney Trumbo, N* and Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, Stephens. OSE: I The Purpose of the meeting was stated by the Mayor to be -the consideration of the application of the Texaco Company for permision to install storage tanks for gasoline and dbher petroleum products on Lot 7, SE,'- 9/16/30,and.called on those present who wished to be heard in connection with the granting of said permit.to state their reasons for or against the project. On behalf of the Texaco comp any, Mr.R.G. Johnson addressed the Council and W.L. Henry and H.P. Alleger.representing the petioners opposing the granting of the permit gave their reasons for opposition. After all parties desiring to be heard had spoken,and the matter had been fully discussed by members of the Council, Alderman Harding moved that the application for permit be denied. Alderman Stephens seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Fuller, Harding, Pearson,.Stanford, Stephens; nays Aldermen Drake, and Scott;present and not voting Alderman Bynum..
