1 l I I I I 387 SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and the City Clerk of said City he, and they are hereby authorize) to issue warrants for the purvhase price of the said lands upon the delivery to the Mayor ,of said deed,conveying merchantable title to said lands,said warrants to bear date of such delivery,to be payable out op the General Fund of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and to be payable to the South Mountain Development Company or to such person,firm or corporation las may be designated by said Company, and payable in the amounts and at the times hereinafter set forth,to-wit;- One warrant for the sum of 1;300.00; payable one year after date, - One warrant for the sum of 1;240:00; payable two years after date, One warrant for the sum of11,060.00, 1;180:00; payable three years after date, One warrant for the sum of 1;120.00; payable four years after date, One warrant for the sum of payable five ,years after date, SECTION THREE: effect This ordinance shall take 5-060" and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication,and all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be, and thle same are hereby,repealede Passed and approved this 27th day of March, 1929, Approved; Allan M. I Levers tt elinquents; The Mayor informed the Council that an informal request.and been made for the City to pay the delinquent assessments in North Leverett Avenue Improvement District, and asked that the Council consider the matter and take such action as to them seemed wise,just,equitable and legal. After some discussion Alderman Scott moved that it is the opinion of the Council that the action suggested in said informal request is contrary to public policy,and the laws, I of the State of Arkansas governing the expenditure of public funds. Distrithe City of Fayetteville,Arkansas presented their final report,SHOWING BALANCE CASH ON Final I➢ report; hand $163.38, after the discharge of all debts and obligations of the District,and requested permission to appropriate said balance to the benefit of the Nurse's Home at the City Hospitgl, sand their discharge as such commissioners. The Council after discussion of the matter I J 00 ordered the report received, approved and filed. As to the disposition of the cash balance held by the commissioners,it was held that the Council was without authority to order the disposal of the same, and pending such disposition, with -held the discharge of the Board of Commissioners. Alderman Harding introduced an ordinance.providing for the prevention of the use of Roller skates in certain places, which was read the first time. Alderman Jones moved that the Rule be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading, This motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and received the following vote ayes Ald rmen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Hardin Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none, and wias declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordi was read the second time. Alderman Pearson then moved that the Rules be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and fianl passage. Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received the following vote; Ayes Alderman Harding, Nays Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford;the Mayor declared the motion lost, and the ordinance left on its second reading. Col. Ave.; The City Engineer presented his report as to the width of North College A nue,stating that the descriptions of the properties abutting thereon were so various that it was impossible to determine the location of the present lines without abstracting all of said property; and recommended that said avenue be made 60 feet wide to the City limits. After some discussion Alderman Drake moved that the City Engineer be authorized and direc to establish the lines of said Avenue so as to provide for a width of 60 feet from Prospect i
