Wilson, Clerk, J.C. Massie, Aldermen Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, and Stanford; absent Ald+irmen Bynum, Drake.. and Fuller; Attorney Trumbo,Engineer Ratliff. MINUTES of the meeting of December 17, 1928 were read and approved. ING BILLS against the City, bearing the proper vouctXers and the approval of the Aud. ing Corn mittee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue veuckere for the same on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Scott, passed by the•unan±mous vote of thje members listed as present and so declared by the Mayor;- Democrat Publishing Co., $19.90; W.J. McCoy Coal & Gas Co., ,?$9.75;Ed Malone $15.00;John 7.illah $35.00; ,Man M. Wilson $10.00; Ferguson Lumber Co. $3.61;Ben Porter $`86,6© $26.00; Salsbury & Sandford $2.50; Street The matter of collection of personal street tax coming up for discussion, it was ordered by Tax; motion that the Finance Committee endeavor to devise a plan for the more efficient collection I of said tax. i Lair's The time having arrived for the hearing of the protest against the granting of a xilding 3tition &building permit for the erection of a business house at the corner of Meadow street and .%otests; School Avenue,the Mayor requested the interested parties to present their case. whereupon Attorney Homer Pearson representing Mr Blair,the applicant for permit addressed the Council lin behalf of his client.None of the Protestants were pr^esent. After due condideration the Council entertained the motion of Ald rman Pearson that the request for permit be granted. This motion was duly seconded by Alderman Jones and received the following vote; ayes Alder imen Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Bynum, Drake and Fuller. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the permit granted. I 'PEALS IN The Clerk reported that eight appeals ppeals from the action of the Board of Assessment for Annex VNEX #1 %wer, Number One to Sewer Improvement District Number One 06 the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas had been filed within the time ` prescribed by statute; whereupon Harding moved that the (hearing of said appeals be continued to Monday, January7th, 1929, This Motion was duly secohd-I ed and passed. The time having arrived for the hearing of the Second petition for the formation of Alley aving District Number 40 of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, the Clerk presented said etition together with the abstracter's list of the real property embraced in said District. some discussion of the matter, Alderman Hard%ng moved that the hearing be continued to xt regular meeting of the Council to be held on the 14th day of January, 1926. This n was seconded by Alderman Jones and received the following vote; ayes Aldemmten Bynum, ng, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not vot&ng Aldermen Drake andl Fuller. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the hearing accordingly continued.
