It is the opinion of the Mayor and City Council that the franchise heretofore granted .to
John McCullough should be repealed by a vote of the people for the reason that the Mayor and.
City Council do not consider Mr McCullough in a position to carry out the terms of the ,
franchise or to comply with its provisions.

WING BILLS against the city were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk ••ias directed to issue
warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Scott, seconded by Alderman Herding passed by lIe '
unanimous vote of the members present and so declared by the Mayor; -Allan V. Wilson $3.50;
Southwestern Gas and Electric Co. $509.62; Dave Condra $36,00;W.L. Crouch $3.70; Lewis Bros io.
$6.70;L.L7. Ivey $6.25; Ed Malone ti?17.50 and $7.50;Ben Porter $37.50; Sid Burnip $37.50;
f the City Collector, Purchasing Agent, City Clerk,Police Judge and Fire Chief were presente and
on motion were ordered received and filed.

.nf:the members present Mr C.0.1. Appleby was re -appointed as a member of the Board of Managers
of the City Water Plant for a term of Five Years from September 7thpi,1928 to September 7th,
1933.
On motion by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Drake and duly passed, the applic a -
tion og H.L. Tuck for permission to instal a Curb Gasoline Pump was granted subject to the pro-
visions of the ordinance thereto pertaining, under the supervision of the City Engineer, the
!applicant to pay the charges of the Engineer.

Olderman Pearson moved that the salaries of Jess Walters and Will Poore as drivers of the
Fire Trucks be raised to the sum of $125.00 per month for such time as they shall perform the '
dextra service as alternate night men at the Fire House, Alderman Scott seconded the motion
which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Sc
Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Fuller, and was declared passed by the
Mayor,
The Clerk
reported
that he
had issued
the annual warrant of $300.00 to the City Library,in
accordance
with the
adopted
budget.
HGA.HURST On motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Ald rman Drake and passed by the unanimous vote
FEE: of the members present the Clerk was directed to issue a warrant to Geo. A Hurst in payment
$250.00; ffor his services as special attorney in the Ouster suit by Judge H.L. Baker against the City
x$100.00 The Clerk was further directed by the Mayor to issue a warrant in the sum of.$100.00 to Mrl
for other Burst in payment for his services in the prosecution of cases appealed from the Police
services; court during his term of office as City Attorney, as per agreement shown at page 275 of thi
!Record.
No further business appearing the Council adjourned. _
