CALLED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
OCTOBER 30th, 1928.
The City Council met in special session on the 30th of October, 1928,pursuane to the
call of the'Idayor, for the purpose of confering with the Committee of the Chamber of Commerc
relative to the matter of the gas franchise granted to John McCullough of Tulsa, Okalhoma.
The reading of the minutes of the meting of October 29th, 1928 was waived.
After a full discussion of the situation, Alderman Harding moved that the Mayor be, and is
authorized to confer with Mr McCullough and attempt to secure from him an agreement for the
surrender of said franchise, and report at the next regular meeting of the Council.
.alderman Pearson seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum,
Drake, Harding, Pearson, Soott Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Jones,
Fuller and Scobt. The Mayor declared the motion passed.
No further business appearing the Council adjourned,

A general discussion of the proper course of action to be pursued followed,

in which the (mayor, members of the Council and members of the Committee from the Chamber of',
commerce took part.
A statement was prepared and signed by the Mayor and the members of the I
Council; -whereupon Alderman Jones moved that said statement be filed and spread of record.
This motion was seconded by Alderman Drake and received the following vote; ayes Ildermen
Bynum, Drake, Harding, Bones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and, not voting
ilderman Fuller. A copy is as follows;-

STATEMENT:
It is the opinion of the Mayor and City Council that the franchise heretofore granted .to
John McCullough should be repealed by a vote of the people for the reason that the Mayor and.
City Council do not consider Mr McCullough in a position to carry out the terms of the ,
franchise or to comply with its provisions.
