Ratliff; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; 1 THr MINUTES OF the Meeting of October 1st, 1928 were read and approved. THE FOLLOIVI'NG BILLS against the City, bearing the proper vouchers, and the approval of the Auditina Co mittee, wrer.e allowed and ordered paid on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman Slot I I passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor;- Tropical Paint and Oil Co., X66.80; American LaFrance & Foamite Co. $1.63;Lewis Bros. Co., $0.60;E.M. Ratli,f $8.25;J.I. Holcomb Mfg Co. $llo 40; Dave Condra $36.00; Vosberg Paint & Wall Paper Co. $8,25;1 Goss -Rogers Electric Co., $4.20;Magnolia Petroleum Co., 1.x.00; Roy Scott $3.80; South- western Gas & Electric Co.,'$508.13; ?9ALTFRS The Clerk reported that after issuing the two warrants authorized by the Mayor as shown at �POORE 1'1ARR4NTS! page 352 of this record he discovered that The $50.00 warrant, numbered 12655 isuued in (favor of Allan Strain had been receipted for by Jess Walters, cashed and presumably divided i with Will Poore, and requested authority to cancel warrants numbered 12670 and 12671, for $25.00 each and issued in favor of Jess Walters and Will Poore respectfvely,whereupon Ald- Fuller erman -Scott- moved that said warrants be so cancelled. This motion was seconded by Alderman i Scott and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council, and so declared by the Mayor. I (CIRCUS I The matter of granting permission for a circus parade through the City was on motion refer: PARADE: tb the City Engineer with power to act. I C.F. ARMLS- The (Mayor presented the appointment of C.F. Armistead as Acting Police Judge TEAD, (ACTING to serve during the absence from the City of W.H. Rollins, Poilce Judge. Alderman Jones POLICE JUDGE: moved that the appointment be approved and confirmed. Alderman Drake seconded the motion (which received the unanimous vote of the Council, and was declared passed by the Mayor. REPORT OFA The monthly report of the Purchasing Agent for the month of Se ember, 1928 was PURCHASING / AGENT: I pr sented and on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded. by Alderman Fuller and duly passed i was ordered received and filed. LIGHT ON Aldermen Jones and Bynum were requested to investigate and report as to the need DUNCAN: for a street light on Duncan Street and the best location for the same. 9.1ATER AND, Mr R.L. Stanfill requested permission to tunnel under the pavement on Mill Avenuel SEWER MILL AVE.:for the purpose of making Sewer and !'later connections. On motion by Alderman Jones, secobded Iby Alderman Harding and duly passed, said permission was granted subject to the supervision of the City Engineer and subject to the requirements of the ordinances thereto pertaining. CURB PUMPi Dan Allan Jr. presented an application for permission to install a Curb Gasoline MEADOW( & I (BLOCK: Pump at the corner of Meadow and Bolck. Action on said request was deferred to the next regular meeting. PATCHING On motion by Alderman Scott, seconded by Alderman Drake and passed by the unani- PAVMENTS: I . •,Aimous vote of the Council, the City Engineer was authorized and directed to patch holes and worn places in the pavement of various streets as needed, and report to the Council the i cost and location of said replirs. I RELIEF At the request of the Relief Association, it was ordered that the sum of $20.00 ASSOCIATION: (heretofore paid to the Matron at the Frisco Station shall hereafter be paid to said Asso- ciation, to be used by them in the furtherance of their efforts in behalf of the charities j I iconducted by said Association. This action was had on motion by Alderman Jones, seconded by j i Alderman Drake and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council. PEALS:I The Appeal of B.R Davidson from the action of the Board of Assessment of Willow I R. Davmdson ; Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville,.4rkansas coming on to be, (heard at this time the contention of Mr Davidson was presented by himself, assisted by Attorney Homer Pearson, The Council having duly considered the matter, and being well and f fully informed in.the premises, Alderman Pearson moved that the appeal be denied. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Byn Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none, absent.and not voting The Mayor declared the motion passed. and he appeal denied. .T.Harding; The appeal of C.T. Harding from th� action of the Board of Assessment of Willow Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas coming on mo be heard, and the matter havin'T been fully investigated by the Council, and said Council being well and fully informed in the premises, Alderman Drake moved that said appeal be denied. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion which received tre following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none. The Mayor appointed as such committee Aldermen Drake, Fuller and Scott. No further business appearing the douncil adjourned.
