Ratliff; 'Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, THE MINUTSE of the meeting of August 27, 1928 were read and approved; X THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City, bearing the proper vouchers, and the approval of the Auditing Committee,were allowed and ordered paid on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman Pearson, passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor; Dave Condra $36.00; Spence Rogers $7,65; John Zillah ;524.50; Fayetteville, Lumber & Cement C ille, Arkansas,and of the district herein described $1.30;Marland refining Co. $8.25, and $1.98;Auto Electric Co. $38,20; Southwest Power Co. Milson ,^;10.00 on REPORTS: The reports for the month, of the City 6ollector, City Clerk, Fire Chief, Police Judge and the Purchasing Agent were presented and on motion were ordered received and filed. Council On motion by Alderman Stanford, seconded by Alderman Harding the hour for Regular and spec Meetings; `meetings of the City Council was changed from 6;00 o'clock P.M. to 1c;30 P.M. I I.D. # 40; The First Petition for the formation of a certain Improvement District, for the purpose of ,paving certain specified alleys was presented, whereupon Alderman Pearson moved that said (petition be received, filed and spread of record. Alderman Fuller seconded the motion which received the dollowing vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, i Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none. Alderman Fuller moved the Rules be suspended and the Ordinance on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Drake, and received the followin vote; ayes, Aldermen Bynum, DV9*kd Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none, and was declared passed by the Mayor. The Ordinance was read lh e second time. Alderman Pearson them moved that the Rules be further.suspended. and the ordinance placed on its third reading dmd final passage. This motion was seconded by Alderman Fuller and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum ,Drake, Fuller, Harding Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed. The Ordinance was read the third time. The Mayor then announced the ques- tion before the Council is shall the ordinance pass, and called for the vote on its passage which resulted as follows; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, S anford; nays none, absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the Ordinance , passed. A copy is as follows; ORDINANCE NUMBER 693. AN ORDINANCE TO BE ENTITLED ° AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A PERMIT FOR CURB GASOLINE PUMPS, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE. That it shall be unlawful to construct or install Curb Gasoline pumps in the City of Fay- etteville, Arkansas without first obtaining a permit in writing to be issued by the City Clerk after the City Council has approved of such Curb Pump and consented to its installation; it being solely within the discretion of the City Council whether such permit shall issue or o hot. S4 CTION AEat all Curb Pumps installed under this ordinance shall be subject to removal at the then owner's expense when so ordered by the City Council, said order to become effective six months )after it is so made and certified to said owner or agent by the City Clerk. I Appeals; On motion by Alderman Pearson, seconded by Alderman Stanford, and passed by the unanimous _ t vote of the.Council, the hearing of the appeals in Improvement Districts Number 38 and 39, and in Annex Number One to South College Avenue Number One, West Meadow Improvement District Number One, Water Improvement District Number Two and Sewer Improvement District Number One I 333 were continued to Wednseday September 5th, 1928 at 7;30 P.M. thereof. X $50.00 Firemen's On motion by Alderman Stanford, seconded by Alderman Scott, and passed by the unanimous vot ' convention; of the Council the sum of $50.00 was appropriated to aid in defraying the expenses of dele- gates to the annual Firemen's Convention. Alderipan Stanford moved that said assessments be each reduced from 712.50 to 78.501, I Alderman Bynum seconded the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, 33i+a3t�, Fuller,Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Drake, and was declared passed by the President pro tempore. Alderman Drake entered at this time.
