ADJOURNED MEETING OF -THE CITY COUNCIL
HELD AUGUST 22,1928.
Mayor.
PURSUANT to adjournment, the City Council met at 8;00 P.M. on August 22, 1928 in the Coun
chamber when -there were present the Mayor, Allan M. Wilson, Clerk J.C. Massie, Aldermen
j Bynum, Drake, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; absent. Aldermen Fuller and Jonee.
The reading of the Minutes of the meeting of August 20,1928 was deferred to next meet
On motion the hearing of the appeals pending before the Council was continued to the next
_regular meeting.,
Alderman Scott.introduced a resolution appointing E. Wilson to be a member of the Board
Assessment for Annex Number One " to South College Avenue Number One of the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas, and moved its adoption. This motion was seconded by Alderman Hardi
and received the following vote, ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stan
nays none; absent and not voting Aldermen Fuller and Jones, and was declared passed, and
resolution adopted by the Mayor., A copy is as follows;
RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS,
There is a vacancy in the membership of the Board of Assessment for Annex Number
to South College Avenue Number One of the City of Fayette ille, Arkansas, by reason of the
resignation of B.F. Campbell therefrom;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That E. Wilson, a qualified elector of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas be, and he is
hereby, appointed to be a member of the Board of Assessment for Annex Number One to -South
College Avenue Improvement District Number One of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

RABIES:A letter from J.H. Bux, State Veterinarian, concerning the prevalency of rabies in this

portion of. the State, and in the vicinity of Fayetteville, was read to the Council.
gh; Mr McCullough was present , and an informal discussion of the matter of granting him
a gas franchise was had, the Council acting in the capacity of a Committee of the Whole.
Several alterations in the proposed ordinance providing for the granting of said franchise
were agreed to, and it was finally agreed that the ordinance should be entirely rewritten
and the revised form submitted to the Council at its meeting, Monday, August 27, 1928.
No further business appearing, the Coundil adjourned.
