A communication from the Board of Improvement of Sewer Improvement District Number One of the
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,stating that they approved the selection of C.F. Armistead to
fill the vacancy in the Board of Assessment of said District was read to the Council; also a
ike statement from the Board of Improvement of Mont Nord Improvement District Ntmber One of
City of Fayetteville, Arkansaa;whereupon Alderman Fuller introduced the following reso-
ution and moved its adoption;- Alderman Pearson seconded the motion which received the
llowing vote; ayes, Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays
; absent and not voting Alderman Jones. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the reso

That this resolution shall take effect and be in force from after its passage
and approval, and all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be, and the

Tooke & Reynolds, withdrawing their proposal for a gas franchise.
Alderman Drake introduced an ordinance providing for granting a gas franchise to John
cCullnugh, of Tulsa,Oklahoma which was read the first time. Alderman Harding moved that the
Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Alderman Drake seconded
the motion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding,
Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Jones, The Mayor .Declared
the motion passed. The Ordinance was read the second time, and referred to the Gas Committee.

SUANT TO ADJOURNMENT, the City Council met in the Council at 8 o'clock 0VA..of August, 8th, 1928,
when there were present;- The Mayor, Allan M. Milson, Clerk, J.C. Massie, Aldermen Bynum,
Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; absent Alderman Jones.
INUTES: The reading of the minutes of the meeting of August 6th, 1928 was waived.-'
PURPOSE*
iThe purpose of the meeting was stated by the Mayor to be the consideration of the Appeals
from the action of the Boards of Assessment in Curb and Gutter District Number 38,and in
Paving District Number 39 of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas:
The Board of Assessors of the said Districts not being present, it was determined to begin
the hearing Iby taking the testimony of the appellants, who were accordingly placed under oat
,the math being administered by the Mayor.
Upan the conclusion of the taking of the testimony of all the appellants present,on motion
the hearing was continued to the next regular meeting of the Council./p"
No further business appearing the Council adjourned, subject to call.
