Fayetteville met in the Council Chamber, May..25th, 1928,.when threr wer.e.present.The Mayor, Allan M. !Nilson, Clerk, J.C. Massie, Aldermen.Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; absent Alderman Jones. The Reading of the MINUTES of the previous meeting was deferred to the next regular meeting. Various matters pertaining to the proposed bond issue were discussed,following a partial (report of the committee appointed to confer with Civic Organizations, and the committee was continued for the purpose of meeting with the Board of Governors of.the Chamber of Commerce to complete its work. Massiel/Aldermen,Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding,Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford;absent none; i THE MINUTES of the meetings of May 21st and May 25th, 1928 were read and approved. 11 � THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City,properly ratified,were ordered paid and the Clerk was directed � I to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman Drake, pass- ed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor;-American•Railway'Ex- i press Co. $0.54;Washington Transfer Co. $3.63; Dave Condra $36.00. t Coal Dealers; A petition from a number of Fuel Dealers, asking that a license charge be established OAKLA AVE: AUDIT 'CITY B00 FIRE and protection afforded their business was presented, and on motion was referred to the Ord- inance Committee,with instructions to prepare an ordinance in accordance with the petttion. • j This action was taken on motion by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Harding and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council.- A request that the curb on the North.side-of..Maple Street be cut to afford passage therefrom; into Oakland Avenue was.presented, and on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman (Fuller was referred to the City Engineer with power to act. E' The matter of an audit of the City books coming up, Alderman Drake moved that L.H. Kempton :be employed to make such audit, at the price of $75.00 for the job. This motion was'duly !seconded by Alderman Pearson and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council. The Fire Committee reported that they found the supply of 22 inch hose in serviceable condition at the Fire House to be; - 200 feet purchased in 1921 600 feet.purchased in 1923 900 feet purchased in 1925 950 feet purchased in 1926 and 600 feet purchased in 1927. That the ljuarantee had expired on 850 feet thereof, leaving 2,450 feet on which th was still'in force Yid of the latter, the *uareatee would expire in June of this The committee recommended the purchase of 900 800 feet of 2j inch hose, and 200 feet of lE inch hose. On motion the report of the committee was received and approved. Ord. to Alderman Scott thereupon moved that the ordinance providing for authorization of the Board purchase I advertize Hose; of Public Affairs to 09*1 for bids on Fire Hose , which was on its second reading, be amended 'so that Section One shall specify 800 feet of 22 inch hose and 200 feet of lz inch hose I !instead of 1000 feet of 2� inch hose. Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received the unanimous vote of the Council.
