After an informal discussion of the merits of certain Flusher apparatus, with the salesmen i representing same, the Council adjourned subject to call by the Mayor. Massie, Attorney, Don Trumbo, Fire Chief, C.1,9.1V!ink- leman and Assistant Chief,E. Crippen; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; absent none. THE MINUTES of the meeting of May 7th, 1928 were read and approved; THE FOLLOVNING BILLS against the City, were allowed and ordered paid on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman Harding, passed by the unanimous vote of the Council and so declared t by the Mayor;Snow Bird Coal Co. $5.50; Lewis Bros Co. $0.50, and $2.04; Wages Bros. Construe - tion Co. $3.75 and 2.50;Democrat Publishing Co. $27.54; Ozark Filling Station $2.75; Ed Malone $1.25; John Zillah $22.50; Nat. Air- The Clerk reported the rectipt of notice from the National Airport Association of the port , 4DAssociation; acceptance of the application for membership therein of the City of Fayetteville,and payment of the membership fee of $10.00. r Watson's A petition from E.P. Watso�.requesting the City to take steps for the protection of his Petition; lots on St Charles Street from drainage was presented to the Council. After due consideration the Council decided to deny the request on.the ground that the drainage in ,question was the natural drainage, for which the City was in no way responsible.This action was taken on motio by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council. GOSS-RO- A request for aid in pay3hng for a culvert constructed in an alley adjacent to their pro- GERS REQUEST perty in Gunter Addition at a cost of $200.00 was presented. No action was taken,except to FOR AID: postpone the consideration of the request. CUT SIDE= A request for permission to cut the walk at the corner of Mountain and College was presented I '''ALK, MT .I AND N. CDL.and was granted subject to the approval of the City Engineer. Alderman Drake moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Pearson and received the I following vote; ayes Aldrmen Bynum, Hraue, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Scott, Pearson, Stanford; nays none, and .vas declared passed by the Mayor. The ordinance was read.the seend time. A recess of 10 minutes was taken at this time in order that the NPO Fire Committee might have time to consider the proposed ordinance. When the Council was called to order by the Mayor., the Fire Committee requested further time for the consideration of the ordinance, which was accordingly granted.
