CALLED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL HELD
APRIL 27th, 1928.
PURSYANT TO ADJOURNMENT,.and on the call of the Mayor, Allan M. Ylson,, the Council met April 27th,
1928, at 7;30 P'Ma thereof when there were•present the Mayor, Allan M. Wilsom, the Clerk,
J.0 Massie; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Harding, Jones,.Pearson, ®ott, Sanford; City Attorney,
Don Trumbo, City Engineer, E.M. Ratliff.; Abent, Alderman Fuller,
MAYOR'S Thw Mayor reported briefly, the proceedings of the meeting of the Municipal
'CONVENTION:
i League, showing that efforts are to be made to relieve the financial condition of the cities
of the state by endeavoring to secure to them a portion of the gasoline tax now refunded to
counties, and by securing the passage of an amendment to the constitttion permitting cities
to levy a millage tax in excess of 5 mills upon vote of the citizens.
(BOND The matter of the proposed bond issue for the city was informally discussed by members of

ISSUE the Council and by Mr Tom Hart,.and Mr Paul Lewis, representing a committee of the various

civic organizations of the city. The tentative proposition of said organizations was given
informally by the representatives, and was discussed by members of the Council and by the
I
Mayor.
In the matter of including an appropriation for the City Hospital in said issue, the
Clerk was directed to request from the Board of Health, and from the Hospital Board an
itemized statement of the needs of said institution. ,^
No further business appearing the Council adjourned..

RESENT:The Clerk, J.C. Massie; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, and
Stanford; City Attorney, Donald Trumbo;
On motion duly passed Alderman Harding was chosen President pro tempore.
THE MINUTES of the meetings of April 160 23 and 27, 1928 were read and approved.

THE FOLLOWING BILLS against the City were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue

aarrants for the.same on motion by Alderman Fuller, seconded by Alderman Scott, passed by the
unanimous vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor; Dave

REBORT: The report of the City Collector for the motth of Aprl, 1988 was presented, and on motion
was ordered received and filed.

(FUNERAL
EXPENSE: of the Council, an appropriation of $150.00 was made to pay for the funeral expenses of
Patrolman McPherson, killed in the line of duty.
'City At this time Col. C.F. Armistead, the City C61ector read his annual report to the Council

ANNUAL and made certain recommendations in cnnection with the administration of the office. This
