Massie, Aldermen, Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stamford; City Attorney Don Trumbo, Alderman Drake entered later. RESIDENT On motion duly passed Alderman Harding was chosen President Pro Tempore, in the absemce ofl RO TEM: the Mayor, Allan M. Wilson. The reading of the Minutes of the meeting of April 16, 1928, was deferred to the next regular meeting. ,RD. 682. Alderman Jones introduced an ordinance providing for the levying of the assessment in Pav- ing Improvement Distrivt Number 36, which was read the first time. Alderman Jones then moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second reading. This motion was seconded by Alderman Scott and 1�eceived the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting Alderman Drake. The President pro tempore declared the motion passed. The Ordinance was read the second time. Alderman Pearson then moved that the Rules be further suspended and the ordinance placed on its third reading and final passage. Alderman Bynum seconded this motion which re- ceived the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Fullar, Harding Jones, Bearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none, absent and not voting Alderman Drake, The A11*70r�ciared the motion passed. The ordinance was read -the third time. The President pro tempore then announced the question before the Council is shall the ordinance pass, and called for the vote on its passage, which resulted as follows; ayes aldermen Bynum, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson; \ Scott, Stanford, absent and not voting Alderman Drake. AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE ASSESSMENT IN PAVING IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER 36 OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS a majority in value of the property owners owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated in Paving Improvement District number 36 of the City of Fayette- ville, Arkansas,organized for the purpose of grading, rolling and paving have petitioned the City Council of the City of Fayetteville for the making of said improvement,and that the cost thereof shall be assessed against the real property of said District according to the benefits rec&ived; and '�fflEREAS said benefits received by each and every block,lot and parcel of real property situated in said District equals or exceeds the local assessment thereon; and WEEREAS the estimated cost ofxsaid improvement is X342000.00; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION L.tMhdtr#a$d That said several blocks, lots and parcels of real property within said District be assessed according to the said assessment list od said District as the sa now remains in the office of the City Clerk; and 3-0 ten per centum (10%) of the assessment upon each of said blocks, lots and parcels of real property shall be paid annually on or before the first day of August,beginning August 1, 1928, until the whole of said local assessment shall be paid. SECTION 2. That this ordinance W=bI be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication and that all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed. Clilson entered at this time, and signed the above ordinance instead of the President protempore, Alderman Harding, Alderman Jones introduced a resolution directing the Clerk to burn all calcelled warrants, which Iwas duly passed; A copy is as follows; RESOLUTION: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: That thel City Clerk be, and he is hereby authorized and difected to destroy,by burning, all cancelled City 09pp t-9 of Fayetteville,Arkansas warrants now in his possession,issued prior to April 3001927. AN ORDINANCE LEVYING THE ASSESSMENT IN CURB AND GUTTER DISTRICT NUMBER 37 OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS a majority of the property owners owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated in Curb and Gutter District Number 37 of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,organized for the purpose of grading,rolling and constructing curb and gutter, hav petitioned the City Council of the City of Fayetteville for the construction of said improve ment, and that the cost thereof shall be assessed a�ga* against the reap property of said -' District according to the benefits received; and WHEREAS said benefits received by each and every bolck, lot and parcel of real pepperty situated in said District equals or exceeds the local assessment thereon; and 17HEREAS the estimated cost of said improvement id ?21,000.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1That said several blocks, lots and parcels of real property within said District be assessed according to said assessment list of said District as the same now remains in the office of the City Clerk; and ten (10) per centum of the assessment upon each,of said blocks, lots and parcels of real property shall be paid annually on or before the first day of August,beginning August 1 1928, untill the whole of said local assessment shall be paid. FOL,069!ING BILLS against the City, bearing the proper vouchers, and the approval of the Auditing Committee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was instructed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Pearson and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council, and so declared by the Mayor;- Ed Malone y'?10.50;Ben Porter $269001 A.C.
