RSUANT TO ADJOURNMENT, the City Council of, the City.of Fayetteville, Arkansas met in the Council lChamber at 700 P.M. on -the 31st day of January, 1928; - The Mayor; Clerk; Aldermen Bynum, Drake, ) Full-leedr,Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; absent, none. FOLLOWING BILLS against the City, bearing the proper vouchers and the approval of he Audiding Com- Imittee were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the (same on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded.by Alderman Drake, passed by the unanimous vote Iof the Council and so declared by the Mayor*- Dave Condra, /A26.00;John Zillah $35.00;E.M. Ratliff $250.00. OMMUNICATION from D.G. Lehn, Agent Frisco Lines, Re; Sewer line crossing York Street was read to the Council, but no action was taken. Harding mpr.Distr. Alderman-7Introduced an oddanance levying the assessment in Paving Improvement District 36. Number Thirty-six (36) of the City of Fayetteville, which was read the first time. LEVY Alderman Pearson moved that the Rules be suspended and the ordinance placed on its second. reading..This motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Pearson, Jones, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed. The Ordinance was read the second time. Alderman Pearson then moved that the Rules be further suspended and the ordinance place Ion its third reading and final passage; this motion was seconded by Alderman Harding and re- ceived the following vote; ayes Aldermen, Bynum, Drake, Hu ller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford, nays none; absent and'not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed The Ordinance was read the third time. The Mayor then announced the question before the Council i shall the Ordinance pass, and called for the vote on its passage, which resulted as follows; layes, Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and not voting none. Ordinance entitled it AN ORDINANCE TO LEVY THE ASSESSMENT IN PAVING IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER THIRTY-SIX OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS.` WHEREAS, a majority in value of the property owners owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated in paving Improvement District number Thirty-six of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,organized for the purpose of grading, rolling and paving; having V petitioned the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,for the construction of said improvement,and that the cost thereof shall be assessed against the real property of �isaid District according to the benefits received; and iWHEREAS,the benefits received by each and every block, lot and parcel of real property eitu- fated in said District equals or exceeds the local assessment thereon; and OWHEREAS,the estimated cost of said improvement is $34,000.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: That said several -blocks, lots and parcels of real property within said District be assessed according to the assessment list of said Paving District as the ame now remains in the office or the City Clerk; and that Ten (10) per centum of the assessment upon each c said Bolcks, lots and parcels of real property shall be paid annually on or before the firs day of November until the whole of said local assessment shall be paid. SECTION TWO: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passag approval and publication and that all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewi be, and the same are, hereby repealed. Alderman Scott seconded this motion which received the following votel ayes Alderm Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson,. Scott, Stanford; nays none; absent and riot J\ voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passed. Nlderman Fuller seconded this motion which received the fo lowing vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Draek, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; mays none; absent and not voting none, and was delcared passed by the Mayor. Ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO LEVY THE ASSESS?AFNT IN CURB AND GUTTER DISTRICT NUMBER THIRTY-SEVEN OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKRNSAS." VIHEREAS, a majority in value of the property owners owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated in Curb and Gutter District Number Thiety-seven of the City of Hayetteville, Arkansas,organized for the purpose of grading, rolling and constructing Curb and Gutter; having petitioned the City Council of the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the construction of said improvementand that the cost thereof shall be assessed against the real property of said District according to the benefits received;and WHEREAS, said benefits received.by each and every block, lot and parcel of real property situated in said District equals or exceeds the local assessment thereon, and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is $21,000.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE -IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: SECTION ONE: ' That said several blocks, lots and parcels of real property within said District be assessed according to said Assessment list as the same now remains in the office of the City Clerk;and that Ten (10) per cemtum of the assessment upon each of said blocks, lots and parcels of real property shall..be paid annually on or before the first day of November until the whole of said local assessment shall be paid. MAP OF At this time the City Engineer laid before the Council a copy of the Atlas Map of the City CITY. of Fayetteville, Arkansas, prepared under the contract made with him on the 11th of January,) 1926, as shown at page 1137, "1918" Record of the proceedings of the City Council, and stated ' that he had also prepared a wall map corresponding therewith. He requested that said Map be critically examined, and that any errors detected therein, of a nature admitting of correc-i tion from any authentic source of official information and reported to him within one year from this date will be corrected, without any additional cost to the City. He also suggested that the wall map be framed and placed under glass for its better preservation. On motion by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Scott and passed by the unanimous vote of the Council, it was ordered that the City Engineer be authorized to have a copy of said walk map so framed. Aid to i 0/EST The Finance Committee reported that after a thorough investigation, they were of the opinion' SPRING• Denied. that the anticipated revenues of the City were so closely pledged to the limit, that no money would be available for assisting in the repairs needed on West Spring Street. On motion the report of the Committee was accepted and ordered of record. Pearson SOUTH On motion by Alderman N*PdOng, seconded by Ald rman Harding and passed by the STREET EXTENSION: unanimous vote of the Council, it was ordered that the City Engineer be authorisI- ' ed toestablish lines for a street not less than 35 feet in width from South College Avenue to connect with Huntsville Road, and report his findings to the Council. ,/ No further business appearing the Council adjourned. ��-� Approved; Mayor Attest;
