BILLS against the City were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue
warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Drake, seconded by Alderman Scott, passed by the

A communication from the Board of Health recommending the passage of an ordinance providing
for vaccination of dogs for Rabies was received.

WHEREAS, there is a vacancy in the membership of the Board of
Improvement of Mont Nord Improvement District Number One of
the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas by reason of the resignation
of F.O. Gulley therefrom,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
That,
E.A. Cowan, a qualified citizen of the City of Fayetteville,
Arkansas,be and he is hereby appointed to be a mamber of the Board
of Improvement of Mont Nord-Improvvment Number One of the City of
Fayetteville, Arkansas, in place of F.O. Gulley, resigned.

ville, Arkansas, and moved its adoption. Alderman Harding seconded the motion which received
the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, SEearson, Scott,
Stanford, nays none. The Mayor declared the motion passed and the resolution adopted.

Scott moved that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prevent
commercial Trucks from parking on the Public Square if the.City of Fayetteville, Arkansas,
and to issue the necessary police orders to make this motion effective. Alderman Harding
seconded the moyion which received the following vote; ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller,
Harding, Jones, Pearson, Scott, Stanford; nays none. The Mayor declared the motion passed.
Alderman.Harding, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Lights, reported the results of his
interviews with the officials of the Southwest Power Company to the effect that for a month,
ly payment of $519.50 by the City, the Southwest Power Company will maintain the present
lighting system of the City with 5 additional white -way lights on College Avenue, and in ad(

Whereupon'Alderman
Pearson
moved
that the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas agrees to pay said sum of $519.50 per month for
the maintainance of the present syetem of lights with the five white -way lights on College
Avenue added thereto , less any outage that may occur from time to time, provided that the
additional 25 60 -candle-power lights be installed at an early.date, and operated for a per,
of 12 months thereafter free of cost to the City; and that two of the old white -way light
by the said Southwest power Company
poles be placed conveniently, near the City Hospitall/End that lights thereon shall be con-
nected with the light wires of the Hospital. Alderman Stanford seconded the motion which
Deceived the following vote, ayes Aldermen Bynum, Drake, Fuller, Harding, Jones, Pearson,
Scott, Stanford* nays none and was declared passed by the Mayor.
Alderman Drake, chairman of the Finance Committee reported the Budget for the year 1928,
which was informally discussed at length; After some minor ammendments, Alderman Drake
moved the Budget as ammended be adopted for the year 1928, effective from and after Jan-
uary 1st, 1928. Alderman Harding secondec the motion which received the unanimous vote of
the Council and was declared adopted by the Mayor. A copy is as follows;-
