HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927-09-30 Minutes' REDUCTI OF CANDLE POWER q 227 ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY CUNCIL HELD SETREMBER, 30th, 1927. The Mayor, Clerk; Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanfmrd; absent none. The reading of the Minutes of the previous meeting was deferred to the next regular meeting. The Light Committee presented the following report;- "We, your Committee beg leave to report;- lst That all White way lights except those on the Square be reduced to 100 C Power. 2nd That' all White Way lights West of the Depot be turned out at 12 P.M. 3rd Tahe all money saved be used in lighting the outlying parts of the City. C.T.Harding, J.F. Stanford John Bynum. No action was taken on this report; and after some informal discussion Alderman Drake moved that all all night lights be reduced from 250 C.P. tb 100 C.P., effective ON November 1st, 1927; and that the November light bill and all subsequent light bills be paid I on this basis; 3tlatttmm and that the City Clerk be directed to so notify the Southwest Power' Company, through its Vice President of the passage of thh9 motion. Alderman Bynum seconded the motion which received the following vote, ayes Ald rmen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, I Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays none and was declaeed passed by the Mayor. The Clerk was also directed to request the presence of Mr Skow, Vice President of the I Southwest Power Company at a meeting of the Council, and to ask for a copy of the list of City Lights in Fayetteville, and a copy of the map showing the location of the same. C��" �� NM, MINUTES of the meetings of September 26th, and 30th, 1927 were read} and approved. i FOLLOWING BILLS against the City, bearing the proper vouchers, and the approval of the Auditing Committee, were allowed and ordered paid and the Clerk was directed to issue warrants for the same on motion by Alderman Harding, seconded by Alderman Pearson, passed by the unanimous `&N I I vote of the Council and so declared by the Mayor,to-wit;Dave Condra $36.00;Phoenix Construc- I tion Co. $72.50;John Zillah $68.75; Lewis Bros, Co. $2.50;Allan M. Wilson, $10.00; H.H. Phipps>Jumber Co. 23.45;City Transfr.r Co. $4.45; Allan Johnson, $3.00,Heerwagen Bros Co. $12.00, and $14.19;McCoy Coal Co. $9.00;J.W. Shelley $12.00; Magnolia Petroleum Co. x+9.60; E.M. Ratliff $6.00,*W.H. Rollins 11.00. Reports of the City Collector, Police Judge, City Clerk, Fire Chief and the Purchasing I Agent were presented and on motion were ordered received and filed. Paving The assessments of benefits in Improvement District Number 36 and Curb & Gutter Digtrir.. Number 37 were filed with the City Clerk, whereupon Alderman Harding presented the following resolution and moved its adoption. Aldripan Pearson seconded the motion which received the following vote; -Ayes Aldermen Harding, Drake, Bynum, Jones, Scott, Fuller, Pearson, Stanford; nays none, absent and not voting none. The Mayor declared the motion passd and the Resolutioly adopted. A copy is as follows;-
